A mortal's mistake
Ruining the perfect portrait
For the resting head
Fearful heartbeats now echo
A thousand apologies

his Coventry St Michael is a 'must'

Of truth
My love has said it
true love never fade
But, why you have changed
your portrait to a poor treat
I liked the old and last one
light won't reach my eyes...
for where my eyes carry me
light isn't born yet...
i'm only a wanderer
among dry unspoken words...
immaculate snow
adorning hills white as lace--

Winter Haiku for Tania Kitchin's Contest

The ships gone adrift
On the blue portrait of us
Were just two strangers
No destination in mind
Every port just looks the same
dusting stale portrait
graying visage from my past
gilds blithe memories
romance stilled in time capsule
shadows my jealous lover
Poets are but
Sick in sublimity
Of love
Time & Events
People & Places
Ideas & Divinities
Without which
They lie prostrate
In portrait
Be still my lovely
As my mind paints your image
Through well chosen words
I shall describe your beauty
Through words only flattering
Frayed
around
the edges
outlined by life
my portrait is etched by experience
Inspired by Brian Strands' Five and Twenty Contest
a portrait… my lover…
my lady… my wife… painted
on my heart with love
indelible the colours
like true love… everlasting

on my heart with love
indelible the colours
like true love… everlasting
Head rearing,
Two windows peering,
Blue curtains closed, dreaming.
Ruby door seeking,
Pearly interior beaming,
From it, poetry teeming.
An artist of some skill was Vermeer
yet did his self-portrait from the rear
Please note though,the interior windows
small lattice,not bows
The master artist polymath Leonardo
the self-portrait to him,a no-no
The search goes on for us to see
& fame awaits the finder of his selfie

Miracle Man
2/8/2025
Each and every day,
God paints this landscape portrait,
that mankind enjoys.
A thousand jewels tumble from sunlit Heavens,
betwixt them a Creator's canvassed covenant.
Gentle revelation, another miracle of life - witnessed.

Butterflies
On lady slippers,
Paint a lovely summer picture.
How the the butterflies do flutter,
As sunbeams flow like melted butter.
Cynthia
the
truth
dwells inside
the
pictures
that
we
paint
inside
the
portrait of the soul
where
there
is
no more light
inside of us
to
behold
Poetry
is portrait
of me,
the painting
of us
the picture
of life,
a state of art
that never
ends...
