As I stand and stare,
at the wonderous sight,
with all it's beauty,
in the daylight,
were the thundering mountains,
meet the fresh fallen snow,
and the ponderosa pines,
seem to grow,
I can't imagine,
a more beautiful place,
and it was given to me,
by God's good grace....

Monchi
It's been ten years or more since,
We last shared a spoken word or,
Broken bread at the same table.

You left so suddenly with no goodbyes,
No exchange of long goodbyes that,
Would normally precede departing.

The ponderosa pines you planted have,
Long since grown so high that they,
Almost touch the passing clouds....

Hope
The greatest blessings are usually the ones you've least expected.
Hold on,
Your actions will bear fruit one day.
It may be when the last wilted leaf of the Ponderosa touches the surface,
but that's okay.
Trust the process.

Musical Tableau
On a mountaintop,
an old piano
overlooks the sea.
Warped and worn, the keys
still serenade the
Ponderosa pines.

Note: Howmanysyllables claims the word "piano" has 3 syllables. I have never heard it pronounced "pee-an-oh" as the site claims, but have edited my poem to meet the official syllable count....

A Thought In Words
Words of thoughts,
Thoughts of words,
And the walls that separate us,
Move aside as necessary.
Itineraries un-kept,
As un-kept yards that offer
Little shelter to the dogs
Beneath the ponderosa pine trees,
Swaying to the rhythms
Of the wild and wandering winds,
Crossing mountains and desserts and seas,
Where sailors sing
And send upon the ocean breeze,
A song for the beloved....

Little Joe, Hoss, Adam, and Ben.
I see them on the tube again.
They live in central Nevada
at a place called “Ponderosa”.

Widower Ben, and his three boys
shared their pain, as well as their joys.
We saw laughter, as well as tears,
during a run of fourteen years.

They showed us a real frontier life,
full of adventure with some strife.
They still stand out among the best
in their exploits of the Old West....
