Musical Tableau

On a mountaintop, an old piano overlooks the sea. Warped and worn, the keys still serenade the Ponderosa pines. 10/31/2017 For contest Tableau Sponsored by Nette Onclaud Note: Howmanysyllables claims the word "piano" has 3 syllables. I have never heard it pronounced "pee-an-oh" as the site claims, but have edited my poem to meet the official syllable count.

They are amazing trees, they are behind the viewer and did not make their way into the picture. Thanks, Eve.

Intriguing story and a great write, Agnes. For what it's worth, I would also class piano as 3 syllables! Good luck in the contest. Regards, John.

Hmm, how do you say it then? PYANO? I believe I say PI A NO unless I am talking really fast(the I blends into that A very quickly making the Y sound). The bad thing about forcing syllable counts on people is that in different regions, people can pronounce words with extra or with fewer syllables than the dictionary says. I don't think we should be counted off for how we interpret words. Anyway, I love your poem and the ponderosa pines at the end.

Thanks, Andrea. I always hear it said as pya-no, the i blends with the a so that it sounds like pia is one syllable.

Is this what you'd call "Over the edge music?" A great picture and poem to go with the unexpected, yet artistic scene.

Thank you, Jan. There is a road that leads to the top, so somebody drove it up there and then carried it just a little bit. But it was a very unexpected discovery and lovely surprise; it was a bit out of tune, but I was still able to play it.
