My caricature is outlined
In the jar of vocabulary
On the edge of expression
I tear into existence
Plying limits
Self imposed
Exposing me
Composing me
Our old canal is in decay
The water rank and brown
So different from its yesterday
When, with barges plying up and down,
Was the life blood of this market town.
One English Quintain
Retirement ain't all it's cracked up to be
Finding things to occupy my mind is key
Like chasing young fillies

My past, I liken,
To a previously sung song;
It’s never changed,
Since bidding me, so long;
It’s difficult to enjoy,
My new song of today;
When I’m plying the old one,
With a cozy place to stay;

By punching words into
Pre-determined form
Plying on rhyming
Placing their phrases
In perfect presentation
With proper punctuation
Perhaps to receive
A few platitudes
Possibly some praise
For its perfection
This is not really me
Merely smoke and mirrors
Plying a day job
That pays the bills
The me
I see
Dissected into ribbons cleverly disregarded
Like a modern day beetle
Imagining all the people
Who have heard the news today and chosen to stay
Sometimes the clothes do not fit the father

Dreamtime moves through your pain

Plying depravity from a string of unblemished guile,
Candor and virtues put on trial.
Mute complications hang the impassive jury,
Corrupt verdicts subjugate while the ingenuous worry.
Grasping for lone echos left by forgiveness and mercy,
Abolish authenticity with fallacy bred controversy.
The very first rapper preceded
Ice-T by aeons and eons
Though his rap-a-tap-tap
never earned him lights in neon
Humbly plying his trade in forests far
from billionaire rapper stars
The woodpecker taps out his tune on trees
~ at times nearby, have a look-see
The Vessel
Inquiry aims to discover
The vessel of our voyage
The ship on which
We have stood thus far..
We have seen many lands
And had many loves
But inquiry asks now
What is this vessel
On which we stand
And have stood so long..
Only to now recognize
A sinking and a rising
Of our real Vessel
Plying infinite seas...

When I would no longer fathom the fall
Nor listen to the veery's soulful call,
When I would not see blossoms spread their fare
Alongside grass lichens and maidenhair;
When in lasting peace and bliss I shall lie
Sedately watching this world plying by,
That I couldn't in the maddened race of life
I would from the portals of death enjoy.

responding roughly to injury,

black power screams
brown men plying in trade
mobile laboratories
moon over the mesas
the valley stretched out below
mountainside condos
trailer park bimbos
babies still die in the ghetto.
From beyond the grave, I scoff
I've earned my place in history.
Such wicked deeds I carried off,
Yet still remain a mystery.
My hunting grounds were alleyways
Where I spent productive nights,
Plying my trade, my art, my skills,
Murder, and it's dark delights.
Never were you close to me,
Not a sign nor track.
You had no clue who I was,
So you all just called me Jack.
yearning years yawned
plying punctured pawn
voluptuous vein shriek
taking taunted tier
porous passion perforated
hoisted hankering hibernated
callous conspiracy crowed
gaunt crest cloned
feeble flesh flown
bounty blitzkrieg bruised
dark dribbles drooled

The flying reptiles frighten me
What if they come back
What if they attack
What if a stolen egg escalates
Into another annihilation
The plying reptiles fascinate me
What if feathers are lost
What if we ignore the cost
And act in fits of passion
What if their leathered skin
Becomes stylish
Again
What if we killed them all
For fall
fashion
Three camels and
A whore
Worked the desert
In the heat of the midday sun
Tanned and sinewy
Plying their trade
Sleeping in
the chill when done
Transporting goods
Or transporting men
To them it was all the same
Never looking for more
Than the minimum wage
For something,or someone
To blame
Taking it all upon themselves
the weight of the world as a song
Carrying the sins or the goods therein
they solemnly plodded along
Snuggled close to my breast,
you stir within my arms.
And begin to wiggle,
plying your baby charms.
Your wriggling and squirming;
brings a smile to my heart.
Holding you is magic;
it has been from the start.
Hush now, my sweet angel,
there is nothing to fear.
Let Mom gently rock you
till those tears disappear.
Mommy is ecstatic;
smiling from ear to ear.
So, close those weary eyes
and go to sleep, my dear.
Line up the meat
According to size and flavor
Make the mistletoe appear early
Beyond its seasonal fracas
The plying and plowing is
Executed with such precision
To avoid the blame of ordinary
To be buried along with
Missionary and natural means
The lattice design that
Shapes futures
Meant for conventionality
None of which sounds
Or tastes appealing
At least for those of us
Who feel we can, we should
Mix it up every once in awhile.
