With home run hitting Ryan Howard, the Phillies offense is powered. However, sometimes I have doubt because he will frequently strike out.

Premium Member Slow Start For the Phillies
Although there are some games to go, the Phillies progress has been slow. What’s going on here? They are currently in last place. It’s not like them to move this pace. There’s reason to fear.

At times I may come across as a lecherous old man But trust me, that's a totally false description of who I am Harmless, gentle and kind Absolutely loves nice behinds I mean really, some phillies have scintillating floor plans

Premium Member Phillies 2013
The Phillies are not scoring many runs. They’re leaving runners on base. Zeros are on the board. Get it together. Bad hitting and bad pitching does not win you games. Not many victories come when you score three or less runs. No postseason play if you lose too many games. Play like a winner.

Premium Member The Unassisted Triple Play
In baseball, this is something we rarely see. An infielder without any help puts out all three. He catches the line drive, and steps on second base; then he tags out the runner at first in a chase. It's happened only fifteen times in major league history. I saw it occur in a Phillies game in 1990. The player who did it was named Mickey Morandini.

Premium Member End of a Streak
It’s too late to do anything now. The Phillies finished third this year somehow. When the season is over, they will just walk away. There will be no post season play. Because their earlier performance was weak, it is the end of their division title streak. They won the Eastern Division crown five years in a row. Will they come back next year? Who will know?

Premium Member So Long Eagles
Once again, the Eagles fell short of their goal.
This year, there will be no trip to the Super Bowl.
They were done in by the Packers from Green Bay.
All hopes and aspirations have gone away.
There is joy and jubilation for each “cheese head”.
It is the Eagles who are packing instead.
There is a verse all Philly fans are refraining:
“We can’t wait for the Phillies to start spring training.”...

Premium Member Jt Will Be Back
To Phillies fans, there is great news as of late. This season, J. T. Realmuto will be back behind the plate. Many consider him the best catcher in baseball. For both hitting and fielding, this man can do it all. Of course, his new contract called for more money. You have to pay some more if you want quality. In professional sports, there is little room for parsimony. from www.mlb.com/phillies

Premium Member Steve Jeltz
Steve Jeltz, you did something great. You hit a home run from both sides of the plate. Both home runs were hit during the same game. That was your one great moment of fame. Today, we have just about forgotten your name. Steve played shortstop for the Phillies. It was only for a few seasons in the eighties. Not too many switch-hitting shortstops can be found. You filled in adequately while you were around.

Premium Member On the Way To a Doubleheader In 1964
Turn that radio off. I don’t want to hear anymore. All they play is music from that Liverpool Fab Four. Those four English guys are polluting the airwaves. Somehow, their music is what my girlfriend craves. These bums look strange with that disgusting long hair. They drive the girls batty, but I don’t seem to care. Anyway, let’s get going. It’s starting to get late. If the Phillies win both games today, won't that be great?

Premium Member Blue Hen From Delaware
There was a hen from Delaware
Who purchased blue feathers to wear
She harboured a mania
To see Pennsylvania…
One state to another compare.

She heard there were Phillies at play
And diners where food was buffet
She found no utopia
Fell victim to phobia
Whenever she drank Chardonnay.

Premium Member Cole Hamels
He is a San Diego native southpaw. One of the best young pitchers I ever saw. The Phillies chose him first in 2002. In 2006 was his big league debut. He has made his presence felt with all the teams. He can baffle the best of hitters, it seems. With wins and strikeouts, he will be the team’s ace. Nobody can knock “King Cole” out of his place. He will be pitching with many home crowd cheers. May he delight Phillies fans for many years.

Premium Member Big Concrete Ashtray
This was a sports arena once considered better than good. At least, it was located in a better neighborhood. It's where the Phillies and Eagles would play. From 1971 to 2003, the teams would stay. The place reminded me of a big concrete ashtray. Times changed for this famed sports venue. In early 2004, Veterans Stadium had to bid adieu. The Phillies staged an early Sunday morning event. Phanatic pushed the plunger, and down the place went.

Jeter Derek: the Legendary Champ
Jeter Derek: the legendary champ
led the Yankees to a sensational victory,
defeating the Phillies
at City Field in the 2009 World Series!
And the crowds revelled
from their stands;
and he waved his hand,
and smiled proudly,
holding and cradling the championship trophy...
driving all the ladies wild!
Jeter Derek made history
by planning a clincing game,
over the opponents to break Lou Gehrig's record...
and all the thrill glowing on his face,
was also a thrill of mine!...
