she said she
couldn't cook
but sent me

a video clip
of her dancing
with a split

almost revealing
no panties

then something on
my back burner

We’ve No Promise Of Later Miracle Man September 20, 2023 At a young age I was deemed a speedy learner, although sometimes I didn’t fully fathom why. I seldom finished things on my mind’s back burner, Sometimes my best ideas would inadvertently die.

Emily
Sometimes,
I think of Emily Dickinson,
and how she pressed on,
writing...
word after word,
her eye affliction
put on the back burner,
her need for reclusiveness
an ace in the hole,
for mastering the art of a poet,
because she "could not stop for death,"
her life became
a drop of glistening water in the sun
as she leaned in
"toward eternity."...

Bird In Hand
Money for today
but not for tomorrow
Bees in the bonnet
cows in the barn

Poverty lessens
the weight of ambition
Our wishes and dreams
back burner to warm

Love for today
but not for tomorrow
Feelings with shelf lives
 spoiled by date

The moment usurps
each hour an orphan
Whose bird in the hand
—neither early nor late

(Dreamsleep: June, 2022)...

Premium Member The Moment Is Now
The Moment Is Now Written: by Miracle Man 2-1-2020 It seems opportunity rarely knocks at a favorable time and sometimes only knocks but once. Burned into each memory is such a time, when opportunity perhaps knocked, and we answered not the door. We put something temporarily on the back burner, to await a more favorable time, which likely never came.

Premium Member Say It Today
Say It Today Written: by Tom Wright 5-25-2019 Some people I know tend to procrastinate, Storing words for a time that may not arrive. They accept other opinions without debate, While some days find their tongue in overdrive. Words placed today on the mind’s back burner, Are often irrecoverable and remain unsaid. No earth born man is a thought discerner, So should words be spoken or reserved instead?

Procrastination Thoughts: of Tom Wright 1/18/2019 God makes for us, opportunities, That we oft don't surmount. Some are unwittingly swept, Into our “do later” account. Though each has good intentions, Attention isn't Judiciously applied. So from our “do later” back burner, Opportunity lingered and died. Sometimes Opportunity knocks just once; Has opportunity knocked on your door, and you failed to answer? Tom

Premium Member Perhaps Tomorrow
Perhaps Tomorrow Miracle Man 1/26/2024 Just as thoughts seldom reach the ears of another, complacency will shy away from new things. Procrastination causes death to things started, and a don’t care attitude is OK with the dings. We place “too busy” items on the back burner, with intent of finishing when time’s not in flight. But there most die, lacking needed attention, they die a slow death because our desire is slight.

Premium Member Frozen To Be Forgotten
Every single day
I climb out of my hole
Pretend that every thing is ok
When I just want to crawl back into it
Time, money ,a roof ,food
All those things forgotten because life takes hold.I always feel obligated and give too much.Only on someone mind when needed because she never says no.No invite to to parks or shows, just left inside the gilded cage till needed to cash in.when all dried out left to struggle with her own self loathing and abandoned and always on the back burner....

Procrastination Written: by Miracle Man 6/3/2020 We often procrastinate because we’ve grown lazy, and delay a thing’s start until it never gets done. Sometimes we forget because our mind is age hazy, and when all else fails we point a finger at someone. Once on the “back burner”, a thing rests in place, awaiting its time it becomes an overlooked chore. Because unpleasant things we don’t readily embrace, our minds gravitate toward cozier things to explore.
