Depression
It’s an inner voice that speaks to the mind,
Stripping it of every happiness to find,
It obstructs it from walking into the light,
Pervading its room with the night,
Oh, how the mind falls into the abyss of darkness,
Until there’s an earthly stillness.

Burnished Refelection
Stark space
could allow for ease
of breath,
but flooded glow washes
in unrest.

Wood burned mirror
rest in farthest
corner wedge.
Its trim scrolls
heavenward in facile
attempts.

Obsidian glass obstructs
true face.
Instead providing
an image voided
of narcissistic delight....

Premium Member Arrested For Tossing Diamonds
I love a good threat, Hugo Jepsen,
Will you send the police, and then some?
If my pattern obstructs traffic
For I am demanding a hefty ransom
While tossing diamonds
From yonder throne!

Premium Member Why So Sad
an evening
      bell
          tolls,
tugs
    at the
           heart:
the Autumn mist
obstructs
    clarity
      of thought,
hides
 the clutching
   hands:
irony
    treads
       its way
through
  the forest
     of yesterdays...
...forgotten..
           ...but..
still
    mirrored
     in my
          mind...

Mental Obstacles Impede
mental obstacles impede
interferes slows down
obstructs progress that
can be made
closes off cuts off
future progress that
should be made
allowing the past
mistakes to overtake
the memory
hindering any movement
in a more positive direction
creating a stand off
standing at a dead end
within the cul-de-sac of the mind...

Premium Member Dread
Why be afraid?
Is dread not dead?
Or fear of dread
Much more afraid?

A heavy feel
Obstructs plain will
For nothing heals
As tension drills.

No wonder then
This empty span
Of knowing when
You know you can!

Dread can drop dead
For those afraid
As fear drops dead
In pulse afraid.

Don't Quit
When the road you walk on
reaches its end,
And you find no other pathway,
Create a road,
But, don't quit.

When the stone of hardships
falls on you,
Lift it with patience,
But, don't quit.

If the darkness of failure
Engulfs your heart,
Light a match,
But, don't quit.

When a storm obstructs your path
Hold on
Take shelter
But, don't quit.

It's your resolve to fight all odds
Take a while
But don't quit...

Eyes Can'T See
Eyes Can't See

The skies are crystal clear yet vision clouded,
A one sided mirror obstructs the view.
Grievances seem black and white,
Resolutions gray.

Tinted glasses perceive disappointment,
Denial, a one sided mirror.
Mistakes are clear-cut and vibrant,
Acceptance avoids responsibility.

Brown, Green, Blue, Hazel,
Tearful eyes inflamed with regret.
Frustration, anger, distress,
Truth is nothing but a blur.

The Eyes Can't See....
