Your baby dropped six foot to the ground?
Head first with no midwife around?
She nodded her head.
More than enough said.
Her new baby giraffe was easily found...

Call the Midwife
T’was her ninth month and early summer,
My wife said she’d heard nothing dumber,
After she had spoken,
Her water had broken...
And me ringing up for a plumber....

She Forgot Her Stomach At the Counter
She went to maternity,
and came back without stomach
at the door way she shouted;
“Oh, where is my stomach?
I think I left it at the counter,
with that fat midwife.”...

Milly
There was a young midwife called Milly.
She acted a bit like a filly.
        When dad left elated
       and mum was sedated,
Milly played with the doctor's willy....

The Spider : Midwife To the Afterlife
My web’s a lonely place to be
For no one likes to visit me

No one who comes here wants to stay
Yet neither will they go away

I really can’t imagine why
A friend (for life) will pass me by

Unless, of course, it’s indiscreet
That everyone I meet … I eat...

Anger and Hate
The pain that one feels,
For no gain doth anger bring,
But hate that cometh from within,
Burns like a witch at the stake,
Suffocates like a hanged man on a noose,
Back stabs you with a blunt knife,
Like uncertain delivery from a drunken midwife,
Love and hate both have pain and strife,
But only one brings forth life....

A robbers wears a mask just to hide their face.

You wear a mask to stop infection in a crowded place.

A surgeon wears a mask when he opens you with a knife.

A midwife wears a mask when she brings a new life.

A person wears a mask to hid and cover pain.

All these people wear a mask but you see not all masks
Are the same....

Stand and deliver! this new bundle for your life
Never you knave, I’m a muse not some midwife
Bring me warm water, and lots of clean towels
Did you not hear, I use consonants and vowels
Too late it’s coming, goodness feels like a tome
Not really, congratulations! it’s a bite size poem

Hard Crossing
Where is that daunting monster Boogie man in life’s shadow Master mentor and concierge Whose touch I’ve come to know To you I’ll waste no breath Beauty is not long and septic My daunting docent of death Midwife to misery, work quick What small dignities remain Strung of vomiting seconds Cultures a pearl of great pain To ferry a man of no direction

Every day is a test, every day a battle
in how you come to terms with
who you are
not
who you would like to be.

Trapped in your job, trapped in your life
you have to come to terms with
what you can do
instead of
what you want to do.

Fixed in your role, stuck in your part
as warrior, thief or midwife
you have to come to terms with
doing it perfectly
instead of
arguing with the director....

A Cat's Midwife
Knuckles deep in a cat.
The spongy flesh pulses around my fingers
Each time I move inside.

Her stomach undulates
As if it was alive.
Wait-- it is.
I am trembling.

Her pained meows
Offset by the mewlings
Heard from within her.

The first head pokes out,
Slick and red
Staining the scratchy towel underneath.
Then more, four in all,
Pawing clueless about on the reddened fabric.
Their eyes still shut, yet they see the world....

Questionary of Blankness
Before entering this world
we transform our soul

The gramophone
plays songs
of mutilated destination

midwife of Death
hatched her eggs
Breeding a dark
Questionary of Blankness

Lament to
  Humanity
where art thou?

Does the corset suit you?
Can it show the shape of Love?

Do you read your own obituaries
remembering the scent
you bore?

Have you ever been
a child?

Remember the Sun
bears
stigma
of starlight...

Midwife's Love
The story is about someone's life,
Written by pen and not a penknife,
Telling of a cool guy with no wife,
Who was brought up by a midwife.

Even though she wasn't his mom,
She struggled for him to transform,
By helping him to get past the storm,
Even at times when he didn't perform.

The midwife didn't treat him like a fream,
By throwing him away as if he was a heam,
All she wanted was him to achieve his dream,
So she raised him as her own and made him gleam....
