Perfect Lips and Blood
A lovely girl’s face,
blood pouring from her perfect lips.
Fear in her eyes as she holds onto my hand.
Makeup so that was applied with such care
is streaming messily down her cheeks.
Those eyes agape then rolling back.
She cries out in pain.
She looks up at me as she tightens her grip on my hand.
Without words she tells me how she hurts.
Without words she tells me how afraid she is.
