I Am a Poet

I fall slowly into a sea of sentiments

All but losing my mind in messages
Messily marking my thoughts and memories

Any feeling enhanced by expression

Painfully trickling tears into passages
Open eyes finding wonder within words
Every worry resolved by writing
Telling me, ‘perceive the power of prose’

Matt Caliri February 16, 2020 at 3:34 PM Nice work placing 7th in my contest out of 43 other contestants! I enjoyed the strength of the writing piece, despite it having little to do with resolutions, I was entertained by the bravado tone.
