Mid-morning waking
Merrymaking
Mixed drink shaking
The holidays baking...
Cheerful leave-takings
'Stay-in-touches' making
Happy bones aching
Joyous yearly undertaking
Come, let us all be merry,
For gay carnival is here.
The brass bands are in full swing,
And liquor is free.
Many were dressed in costumes,
The fancier dressed galore,
Trucks decorated in fun.
Fireworks hued the sky.
Kenya kangaroo flying colorful kaleidoscope kite
gnawing nimble gnashy night crawlers on Nairobi’s night
enticing enthusiastic Englewood eagles, filling them with excite
making melodious music, merrymaking magic as they might
Rejuvenation,
A Festival of colors-
Flowers and laughter!
Holi is an ancient festival of India,
heralding the Vasanta-ritu, the commencement
of the Spring season, a festival of merrymaking.
"Traditional Haiku, Spring" contest by Debbie Guzzi
stars in eyes
two brothers
nay, friends
hugging
accordion bellowing
the preacher waltzing
the friends hurraying
celebratory
partying
in old westward ho
old-fashioned merrymaking
without all the noise
of the media
a tiny huddle
of villagers in dim light
do stars guarantee a brighter camaraderie?
If it was December and….
If I was an ancient Roman
But I assure you, I am not….
I would be feasting and merrymaking like mad
Celebrating the Festival of Saturn.
Or Saturnalia if you prefer.
As many ancient Romans do.
But alas, I am not Roman, only ancient.
And December is almost three weeks out.
So let me begin this poem again.

Merry making among friends was in full swing.
The hedgehog was pouring his ale with a sing.
Mouse the bartender was being liberal with drink.
Everyone felt cozy, warm, we were all in the pink.
Merry making among friends extended to enemies too.
We all became comrades, in the flowers of blue.
The caterpillars did flying tricks to entertain us.
I became a best friend with a wren name of Gus.
Fun-loving faerie dancers are merrymaking today
Frolicking with fancy moves, high kicks. Hooray!
Their merry making is helping the breezes sway.
Melodious magical melodies are heading your way.
You may not see them, but your senses know they are here.
They lift your heart, help your soul feel excited and dear.
With optimistic hopes and jubilant joys and jumps,
The faerie dancers help you out of the dumps.
CHOPIN PHRASIS
O reverie,such enchantment a
well spring,from the mountain,
now,a sad river.My darling I
wanted what I have not ,to be
a bridgegroom,a handsome
lad, with your ring.Now out
of sight,merrymaking,and what
she likes..hark the Messenger…
they carry heavenly crosses and
…the leaves are falling.
From song titles of Chopin
Listen to me read this phrasis on youtube under the pen name ichthyschiro
Merry was the prettiest M that ever could be
She was swirly and floral, a gorgeous sight to see
We tried to compliment her, but she did not hear
She was unassuming and modest, a melodious dear
She could carry a tune, marvelously melodic and fine.
Many merrymaking suiters stood next to her in a chorus line.
Each wanted attention, because Merry was totally lovely.
She was truly the prettiest M that ever could be.
It is winter here
Leaves are filling in the space
Looking for some grace
****
The sun meets the tree
Seeks a warm hug from its bough
It comes back empty
****
Just the other day
Found the tree merrymaking
Now moans in dismay
****
Trees sigh in the wind
Reality is so hard
Trampled are the birds
****
The crushed time moves on
The chocolate will return
Let’s smile for the dawn
