Out of the waves they come.
Helmeted army of crabs
Trundle over the perfect pools 
Of starfish and periwinkle,
Murking up the sandy bottom
Of their foxholes, 
Armoured claws testing each mollusk for food,
Sidling up to my toes
In marauding hunger.
I retreat  inland,
Allowing them their beachhead....

 Art monger appearance,
 A displayed suit, a tie and a Bowler hat,
 Needn't for a longer rope;
 Tied tie to a pole,
 Like Grandma marauding goat,
 Wondering like 'esiewu,' of gathering muse
 Who is to be slaughter next?
 A frightful goat fall to the ground throwing tantrum,
 Tie squeezed tighter in bandit suit
 Knocked together with thousand sack....

teases, tempts
taunts curiosity
the daft succumb
to the dimming light
exhale the hubris of humanity
disguise the shadows of history
mock the presence of a past
resist the changes of the light
abhorrent in its fading lies
marauding mimes in motionless array
thoughtless within self made boxes
paw at invisible restraints
drawn into a darkness yet to come.

A poem is like the ripples in a pond,
As the muted sound.

Like the reflection of the sun on an aluminum foil,
As the muddy soil.

Like a rain drop,
Dry as the desert crop.

Like the myriad colors in a shaft of light,
As the imagination takes flight.

Motionless like the shifting sand,
As a marauding band.

Like the glimpse of a familiar face in a milling crowd, 
As the flash of lightning in a foreboding cloud.

His darts left many a defender for dead
Had he not been flagged so often for offside
His haul of goals would have sky-highed
His quick reflexes the eye deceived
Leaving linesmen blind to his onside speed
This was a Lisbon Lion with a cheetah's pace
Forcing defenders to foul rather than  chase
Faster by far than any other
He caused defences all sorts of bother
