Premium Member What He Could Do With a Kazoo
There once was a hippie played a kazoo
He'd make that kazoo do things it couldn't do --
It would sound like a horn
   From Louie Armstrong torn --
He'd play taps on a harmonica too...

A Chinese Limerick
A gambler from Hong Kong named Louie.
He was dumb and quite a bit screwy.
In a gambling pad,
he lost all he had.
Today, he can’t afford chop suey.

Who says a limerick has to be Irish?...

Premium Member Saguaro
There once was a shutterbug named Louie
Whose dry humor was a trifle screwy.
To a saguaro he said
Hands up lest I shoot you dead.
A shot; a flash; kablooey went Louie.

Premium Member Saint Louie's No Popeye
Saint Louie didn't like ravioli
And he wasn't much for mostaccioli
  So he went to Greenwich
  Had a taste of spinach
Louie screamed, "Unholy Poggioli!"

Old Tv Commercials
There was Louie the fly
Who’d want to fly by
There was Madge who
Soaked your hands in Palmolive goo
There was the Rolladoor song
That Geelong supporters sing along
Your Mum Mister Sheened your furniture
To a sparkling shine so sure
These commercials I remember on television
That as soon as I think of them they are in my vision.

Pick Pocket
Light-fingered Louie
was at it again
   this morning.

Wished he would
have a real job
and not be
a pick pocket
type of person.

Sometimes he leaves
me alone, he goes
shoplifting instead.

Here he comes again
wished I could tell
him to get his,

hand out of my
pocket, my master
whoever they may
be today does
not like it
gone bit.

Premium Member Piemaking With Uncle Donald
Donald brought Huey Dewy and Louie in to bake the pie.
Louie said, “Ouch! I got some of those seedlings in my eye!”
Things will happen, of course, and that’s okay, said Cy.
Who are you anyway? Asked Donald, as if he were a fly.

“He is our friend!” Huey and Dewy chimed in right away.
So Uncle Donald had to teach four to bake a pie that day.
They designed the top and put sugar on the crust.
If you are in town, stopping by for a bite is a must....

Premium Member Max the Coolest Sax Playing Cat
The club members all agreed Max was the coolest cat
“A Bohemian beatnik who knows where it’s at”
He taught Louie Armstrong to play those rhythm blues.
That is why we getting ready to tap with these shoes.

I don’t know what I expected, but certainly not a real cat.
This one was wearing seventies clothes with an old velvet hat.
He nodded my way and swiftly began making love to his sax.
I was intrigued and enthralled, he was an amazing musician, Max....

never smoke she said,
cigarette dangling from her mouth.
ashes falling into my oatmeal
I nodded my head, dutifully.

always tell the truth, he said,
he called in sick to his boss,
we went to the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.

don't ever gossip, said my grandma.
before telling us all the rumors she had ever heard
about the neighbors.

never generalize people, Uncle Louie said,
unless they are Irish, English, or Swedes.
You cannot trust any of them....

I took pattern making autumns ago
I measured and cut a bodice to sew
A vintage cocktail dress trimmed with mojo
Louie Fifteen Courts would never forgo
I’m dressed to the nines and nowhere to go
Aha, of course, there’s a chic fashion show
It’s a full house, the theme: “Haute Escato”
Awed by the finale I yell bravo!
Home watching YouTube, with chips and merlot...
