Good Food is to Good Health what Mobility is to Longevity. 06072017PS

I stood
Defying gravity
Frowned
Denying levity
Wrote poems
Extolling brevity
Dodged much of life’s
Severity
Now wrestle with
Longevity
age

Stay Well

Health plans are many, take your pick
You'll need one when you get sick
give longevity a chance
cheat death of circumstance
and give your heart more time to tick.

Longevity

Your smile now leaves me immune
to your nearness
as she spits her spit
to stories of drought
amongst the crowded camp fire
where her salt tears are recoiled

Premium Member Longevity's Brevity

He loved to flaunt his longevity
and wielded it with great levity
yet in the race
couldn't keep pace
and was known for the length of his brevity

Feather pen fluttering, ink spilling grandmotherly perspective.
Circumspect of future generations; the Jetsons in flight.
Drones may carry the message, but hands-off to AI robots.

Beautiful butterfly, Maureen!
Serendipitous creativity sails

Tribute to Maureen McGreavy

Longevity SK

"I think," she said,
at ninety-three,
"I have the gift:
longevity."

She said, "I'm sure,"
at ninety-four;
at ninety-five,
"I'm still alive."

"I'm sure to see
one century
and thirty-three!"

Simplicity and care
Affords
Longevity;
Haughtiness will
Blind
The pupil
Unforgiving souls suffers
From their own hand-carved scars
But those forgiving, nurtures
The very ground on which we stand.

Premium Member Butterfly Dreams

Though a butterfly is with us,
For such a short time,
It’s not longevity,
That captivates one’s mind,
Its beauty is uncontested,
Its aerial ballet serene,
So thank you dear butterfly,
For seeding my dream

Anniversary

Absolutely
no question that
normal life unequivocally
is life with you --
voracious in love, an
energetic longevity of devoted time,
resilient in forgiveness,
sure I am
always already
relinquishing
your ying to my yang.

My Soul Shall Be Rain

If love is warmth
Then, hate is lust

If beauty is tainted
Then, eyes are melted

If life is bleak
Then, hands are stones

If evil is longevity
Then, death is assurance

If wind is thy spirit
Then, my soul shall be rain

Premium Member Longevity

Have I been given longevity for a special reason?
Is there something this old man still must do?

Or, am I the product of good ancestry and genes?
When I discover the answer, I’ll share it with you.

Premium Member The Reward for Longevity

Eventually all loves will go away.
Either dying off one by one
or hobble away to nowhere.

After they're gone
the best we can wish for
is to feel the bones of their kisses
and the soul of memories.

The reward for longevity is loneliness.

Resentment

Ages of passivity
My soul in captivity
I have endured longevity
and created a malignity
Now lives my iniquity
Causing a calamity
I am damned to an eternity
of spiteful animosity
Will I ever be free
or will I be left empty
Only in time I will see!!!
