Touch Foot Ball

On Saturday, the L A Rams
Encountered the Monterey Clams
With no and, if, or but
It was open and shut
The Sopranos limped home like lambs!

Cherokee Speaks

At the rising sun they came,

driving us from our homeland.

Miles and miles our people limped.

The weakened ones fell.

How Old Is That Pirate

Once upon a time a pirate limped by
"How old are you?", I then asked with a sigh
What he said was good
But misunderstood
"Aye matey, you need not know!", his reply

Circus Escape

We circus animals were extremely tired of the ringmaster’s sass
They gave him the wing, the spit, and their nod said the ass.
A duck, a dog, and a tiny bear on a ball ran away too.
The ostrich limped out, for he was wearing a cosmetic shoe.

chiropractors are not the same

chiropractors
they are not the same
some are miracle workers
others make your soft tissues cry
one worked on me for minutes and my migraine left
I limped out of another chiropractor’s office unsure if I could walk
My back felt broken; I was in severe pain
This was the last one I ever saw

The Weird Racing Car

The weird racing car

The car was driving on the thin track,
Oh no, the car bumped into a leather sack.
The driver limped out of his car,
Only to find some children eating tartar.
Am I going mad, the driver thought,
As he saw some goats gloat.
The driver started to scream...
As a huge machine started to spill on him, fresh cream.

Ramona In a Hammock

not brown grass, not spindle trees
                          nor sloppy suns embrace you;

you sway in a summer hammock,
                          your shape unique,
                          a collection of eyes and glass;

no description; time has limped to stop,
                          the hours windless,
a girl at quiet under the sky

This Is How It Is

Today I woke up in the morning,
Yawning,
Groaning,
Grinning,
Then I saw your beautiful image,
That was clamped on the door of my heart,
Guess what?
I stopped,
My heart limped,
My face smiled,
My bones chuckled,
And I saw a hope,
A hope of living again,
A hope of moving on,
Without tire,
Nor retire,
Yes, I gained hope,
A hope to battle again,
With no retreat,
No surrender.

Whose Child

Karl was pasted to the park bench
constable Dodds raised his body with a heavy
kick followed by a smart crack from the night stick

Karl’s swollen ear tried to pull
his face from the bench
once more with the night
stick and he was up

Karl limped to a nearby tree and dispensed
himself before striking an angry fly
loaded at the bigbucks across the street
three men with very tiny heads burst into laughter

Hopes Returned

All these days that I limped on,
once too often on a lonely lawn,
always feeling somethings gone,
and pondering why my minds so torn?

I take a journey back down the road,
decrying off my shoulder's load,
picking up pieces of a joy abode,
and on my horse back I rode.

And while on the way to destiny,
hurt by my minded mutiny,
I bind up the pieces just to see,
a once happy portrait of you and me!

Santa Had a Small Break

On Christmas Eve Santa decided to take a bit of a break
He sat on the stairs, for his right leg had a small ache.
Let’s get going! Yelled Dasher from the rooftop above.
Santa wanted to do it; he has the heart of a dove.

So, he walked through his sorrow and limped through his pain.
To do what he had to do to make Christmas great on the lane.
He went from house to house through the rest of the night.
For to give up at this juncture would not have felt right.

The Sandcastle

The child played on the shore all day,
Preferring fortress peace to boat,
The noon-bright gulls knifed waves of air,
Blurs in the brief expanse of moat.

One tower rose, a stubby knot,
The grand gate, scratches on a wall,
And no bridge spanned the moat at all,
For sea had cleaned the beach of clay.

In half-light limped a fragment moon,
As youthful eyes watched waves draw near,
His stark foot left a seaward ruin,
That sweeping crests rushed without thought.
