Santa Had a Small Break

On Christmas Eve Santa decided to take a bit of a break
He sat on the stairs, for his right leg had a small ache.
Let’s get going! Yelled Dasher from the rooftop above.
Santa wanted to do it; he has the heart of a dove.

So, he walked through his sorrow and limped through his pain.
To do what he had to do to make Christmas great on the lane.
He went from house to house through the rest of the night.
For to give up at this juncture would not have felt right.

Without Santa, Christmas would be so dull ! He knew everybody's wish and so staggered through, forgetting his own ache, to make others quake... with joy !

You know, I had a chuckle with this one. I wonder that children never question how old Santa is. My mom always said something beautiful goes out of Christmas when one stops believing in Santa...so I still do, but I know he is getting pretty old and decrepit!

He is magic though Hank; never forget that!
