The overkill of rainstorm
with threat of life and limb; trees
swivel, sway, dancing, falling
with wake of devastation rising.

is gain worth such loss
de-constructing life with limb
Collision course toward ourselves

From the Deep Wayra
Dirty fossil fuel
Extracted from deep earth crust
By men who risked life and limb
Today cursed by many
Gave us this civilization

Of Life Or Limb
Smack dab in the heights
a moment missed
where cracks crease
the self-destruct
unnoticed
in the reality
that life evolves
enveloping every step
up the ladder
surveying tattered seams
costs of lovers dreams
and then you fall
or fail
to see the lessons
and what they truly mean...

American Soldier
Our soldiers line up to be remembered
As the best of the best at their job.
They wish to be needed and depended on
To save all we love from the mob.

They risk their life and limb for liberty
Standing firm against evil unwilling to break.
To be part of something greater than themselves
They are willing to sacrifice whatever it will take....

Lost Lanky Ink
eerie syllables spanked
by tainted trance
nocturnal nature puked
bounty boo blew
hoisting haggard rhymes
porous perfection chided

life like limb
lusty labium crippled
vying velocity tripped

dark days damped
traced gullible dance
drooling death pat

pulpy pen dripped
lost lanky ink.

Patterned Death
on this form
falls this force,
this elemental motion
brings to bear a center,
a thread woven inextricably
from a patterned death.
a modality of means,
pulled tightly but
too Abundant to refuse breath.
a willfull sword cleaves
the self from
any wretched root,
the dead leaves' fall
gives life to limb
and flame
as flame gives
light & blood
to our backs...

Sounds of medical monitoring machines
Echo in the brain of a comatose marine

Lying on a gurney hospital's bed
Least of all, nothing is said

Those present bow their heads
Praying his not already dead

Eye's flutter, the patient awakes,
from their comatose state

Ironically,
the marine didn't pass through heaven's gate
Risking life and limb then joining life again...

Squirrel
In the shadows of the acorn tree, watching the squirrels race around gathering acorns. Their busy little hands rotating them, examining each acorn. Hoarding them, even brawling with other squirrels for access to the best trees. Daring acrobats that risk life and limb to collect them from the willowy ends of branches.

Trees full of acorns
daring acrobat squirrels
hoards little brown nuts
