Fun In the Sun

Going to the creek,
Jumping off the peak.

Sitting around the campfire,
Eating s'mores and getting tired.

Going to the beaches,
And picking off leaches.

Leaches

I carry them like loose skin.
Saurating every pore.

They've penetrated deep into my skin,
Now they sucking me dry.
Latching on like leaches.

But I can't take it any more.
I can't stand it.

Redemption Profaned

Bubbling up through the surface,
  one truth leaches out

Like a word long forbidden,
  oft whispered—it shouts

Rising up to the heavens,
  its message proclaims

“The eruption has started,
   redemption profaned”

Cruel

A good memory
Is not always good,
Storms kill harmony
As bad blood bleeds mood.

A good tender heart
Knows such awful pain,
Sharp cuts craft odd art
As oozing tears stain.

A good man bears much
As joy leaches fast,
See bad deals burn touch
As cruel blows outlast.

Skeletons

As the skeletons
fall out
of the cupboard
spiders
webs attached
the distraction

slowly crawls out
a web of lies
like leaches
you drained
me of all truth

sucked in with lies
like a snake
i swallowed everyone
now i spit them back
with venom

truth hurts
cutting you
to the bone
as the skeletons
come out
the inner shell
off you

The Leach Cathedral

The wretched, green
the wretched green
Cathedral of the leaches;

the leaves decay,
the minions pray,
and Dieties give speeches.

They pay their dues
and bleed for news
thruthful words for bamboo pews,

while those with means
swap reds for greens
and do not own the reds they use.

The wretched green,
the wretched, green,
the wretched green.

Bandits

Emotional bandits
Waiting, looking, hunting for
A drip of emotion
To abuse, to make fun of
To disrespect
Like leaches they are
Ready to suck until there is no more
Emotional bandits
Preying on emotions
They themselves showing none
Inhumane as they are
I refuse to be like them
So, I’ll hide my emotions from them
While I nurture the human in me.

What Makes Me Happy

i'm always happy when i think of food
it sets me in the mood

warm toast with honey makes me so happy
i guess that sounds a little sappy

or is it perking coffee gounds
to go along with ice cream mounds

who knows
i'm just peachy down to my toes

there i go with peaches
i'm glad there not leaches

no wonder my belly's so full
and that's no bull

A Stove of Ash and Coal

Although it matters not anywhere else my heart crushes for what it knows better to have...
I am overreacting and incapable of concluding the ordeal inside myself...
I know how vain and futile such an allowance of mind into obsession is...
Indeed a desperate man void of inspiration leaches on any hope...
This inspires the fire within...
Long a go the fire warmed my soul now so cold...
A stove of ash and coal...
How long shall I dwell within this fantasy so real?
