Norrie the Narwhal

There once was a Narwhal named Norrie
Who went for a drive in a lorry
They crashed into a truck
His horn lanced it, bad luck
And the holey truck driver is sorry.

Sir Lancelot

Jousting only because of the kings pleas,
lanced once too often feeling apathy,
drinking from cup,
holes sprung much,
feeling like a piece of holey swiss cheese.

Peak Unclimbed

Through troubled times I traveled far, lugging life with lanced dreams’ deep scar. Twilight tinged the mountain mystique, I couldn’t climb the attainment peak, failed life faded like shooting star.

On New Shores

Lovely is the sound of water
Lapping on the teeth of Pelee
Island shores, when lanced on its
Crests thrusts some ferry's horn—the knell,
Some tarnished brass bell (I have heard)
Maddens beneath it, and breaks apart,
The rhythm of marching water.

Nev South Drive

An advance of clouds
Toward the North
Greeted the afternoon,
Crocodile head and turtles surfacing
Overhead spectrums low.
Bottoms drop tails to the ground,
The underside of a toadstool
Greeted evening.
And out of the hand that lifted it,
Boltings lanced to the ground
As night began its closing.

My Cyst

My breast is getting in the way of my thoughts today
Remember the time no one would lance the cyst
So I lanced it myself?
I am thinking now that may have been a mistake.
I reach for the carving knife.
It may be time for a secondary operation.
Surely this thing would not dare grow back a third time!

Beauty

Looking at the clearest water
clarity with a depth of person.
The longer I watch its beauty pure;
I see what time has lanced.
The closer I travel with my road
I understand its epoch.
Looking at the clearest water
Its clarity has begun to muddle.
The longer I epoch
I see little of what once was.

Vlad

House Draculea
There is no question
One could say...

Bloody spills
And gory tales
Could not stay
The hand impales

Eating dinner
Never end
All those vanquished
Now descend
“Take them down
My dish complete
Soldiers lanced
Before my feet”

Thousands dead
To seed the land
Impale them all
And message send
In story more
Vlad does amend
And still live on
In dread of men

Guilty

I don’t come very often anymore
to the edge of this rancid waste dump
     to pick at the scars
     and bleed anew . . .

To stand and welcome it all
in its abscessed pustule
     as plump as summer milkweed
     ready to be lanced.

I hold the images in my heart
and await the rolling thunder
     to bring blessed relief
     with loosed blood and infection.

My penance.

My Mirror of My Mind

You are the mirror of my mind, if we shall part , I would be lanced

and like glass fall into a million pieces, When we our together

I feel the consciousness of it all, But when gone its like wine I'am

unable to keep this feeling forever, I guess we can call this our

vine of love like the red passion of our lips when they meet, I am

still unable to put all the pieces back together again.

Where Do They Go

They crawl into your shadows
Simmering in the quiet
Lanced in the heart by the world
Swirling in automatic-stop emotions

There in a cab somewhere in Detroit
Out of money and full of mind
A thousand thriving theologies
Dancing in their brain
Unable to open the door
Unable to pay the man

They are kicking invisible cans
Down the aisles of libraries
Burrowing like Kafka into
Any and every trail that
Holds the false promise of salvation

Texas Wildflower Haiku : Widow's Tears

sun’s heat sunders sand
clustered lanced leaves green hug
widow’s tears collapse

Widow’s Tears is the common name for Commelina erecta var. angustifolia, they bloom on
Texas beaches in sand or clay, and have the characteristic of flowering early in the morning
and fading by noon. The bloom in all seasons but I chose spring to be more commonly
approachable. [1]

People's Dreams

So many of people’s dreams are lanced,
before they are even given a chance.
Will you take a stance,
before you give up on the dream?
Do not be mean or
put down each other.
Instead should push and
help one another.
Also to bond like sisters
and brothers.
Try not to smother each other’s dream.
It is better to redeem what is meant to be.
Because then is it for all to see,
Not only for the ones who are
close to you,
But mostly to show the majority.
