Only 504 Kilometers Between Us
Darkness falls over the péage
As I head North.
Every roadmark tells me
I am moving further
away from you.

But each passing minute brings
the moment I see you again
closer....

Alphabirds
All birds can’t drink everything flamingoes gulp.
Hawks inconsequentially jaunt kilometers.
 Loutish macaws never oblige parrots.
Quail run several trails under vines.
White xerophytes yield zenithal albatrosses.

Extreme Measures
Lines are drawn and measures made by different definitions Kilometers or miles or feet, or inches just to name a few As long as the results the same, it really doesn't meter

I Have Her Knees
like I'm some kind of superhero
they are all roads
long and heavy
miles of stained cars
kilometers of houses
and in people thousands
and I struggle with these thoughts like Marvel:

must I speak to the world!
must ...
oh geek ...

pressed my heart

her knees...

Journey's End

Life expectancy
but a breath of existence
from eternity.
           ***

Life expectancy
but a thousand mile journey
to eternity.
             ***

Note:
A 'li' is known as a Chinese mile and is approximately one third of an English mile or 500 kilometers. A thousand li, metaphorically, refers to a long journey....

Ancient Egyptians worshiped idols
Their slaves, the Jews, did too

So, to the Lord the angels complained
On Your holiness do You desire a stain

Why save these two groups of idolaters
Drown them both in the sea several kilometers

Yet the angels didn't get their way
For ill-treating Jews, Egypt paid...

Sure, the Lord says pray only to Him
But if you don't ~ Make sure you can swim...

The Majestic Waterfall
The overflowing beauty
A paradise that has never seen
Its splendid drizzling drip
Coated with mystic breeze
Old walls are coated by vines
Endless flowing water pours down
Everything is fetish in perfect time
Wish that this won’t be my last time.
The crowd smiles blissful like an air
It reaches the peak of the stairway
Kilometers can’t pay the magnificence
The majestic beauty of waterfall...

A Careful Style of Begging
Some days we go there to beg:
Ten kilometers for each leg.
We aren’t greedy as we beg:
Never asked Givers for egg!

This week we’ll be there to beg,
Our backs to their palm wine keg:
A chance to drink spare not dreg;
It makes one laugh at us: Greg!

Our smartest beggar: Mark Clegg:
For now to it does hopes peg;
Whatever he gets he holds:
The costly with left palm folds…

He knows, though, he’s getting old
And says “I need not be told.”...

Five Hours In the No Go Zone
In forty kilometers squared
They’re killing livestock in Japan.
Atomic refugees, though scared,
return just to grab what they can
in the five hours they’re allowed
before leaving their homes for good,
look sadly at the farms they’ve plowed
and mourn their poisoned neighborhood.
Still searching for family lost
at the funeral homes each day,
they haven’t realized the cost
or the price that they still must pay.
Fukushima’s apology
means little while they sort debris....

Zero
June sixteenth,
seven o'clock am,
twelve degrees and blue sky,
a hundred birds perched on the roofs,
my two eyes fixed on the window,
looking at the train passing at a thousand kilometers an hour,
the first that every eight accurate minutes
will pass with his ten compositions,
at any of the twenty-two stations
created six months ago,
after eighteen years of delayed works,
fourteen workers killed,
and millions missing
In the four pockets of a dishonest politician....

Crisis
Few odd kilometers now
In this short walk.
The feet all sore
And the mind, sulk.
"Who knows where the park is
Or when the time to bed is?"

The brain is full of shade.
The head needs its shrewd.
If the mouth won't say,
The body would.
"Is it permissible to be in the restroom?
One needs to be at ease, soon."

Thinking, "out of ten, I'm nine!"
In truth, he's genesis in time.
Conflicted youth in his prime.
Tired!
Feeling, "I need a peaceful rest.
Hands folded, placed in chest!"...
