Our old friend Johnny Appleseed
Was a bit of a kook all agreed
Always wore a tin pot on his head
Kept himself dry and also well fed

Johnny Appleseed was really John Chapman...he became the stuff of legends after his death. 
He wandered the northeast planting appleseeds. The apples were used for apple cider or "spirits",

Premium Member Why Did He Do It?
Of Johnny Appleseed,
Two things we know.
He loved apples and walked alone.

For fifty some years he roamed the prairie.
He carried his seeds,
Planting them where no apples had grown.

Why did he do it?
No one really knows. 
Me thinks he was a recluse at heart,
one that simply loved the taste of apples.

Note: September 26th is Johnny Appleseed Day. Honor him and eat a cold, crisp apple....

I   is for a fresh idealism not false idolatry.
