Premium Member Belly Dance

Little feet tiny hands
Inside me growing and
Kicking my ribs jabbing my hips
Responding to noises voices
With a flip

Premium Member Hang Ups

Angrily hanging up a smartphone lacks gravitas - jabbing a virtual button doesn’t offer the satisfying, physical release of slamming down a receiver

Bitfrost of a Broken Bottle

Caught in the facets of a broken bottle
sunlight splinters dangle from its edge
holding fast its beauty
jagged japes of jabbing jades
bitfrost of a broken bottle

Judgement

Jade and jasper he’d give –
just let his daughter live!
Jephthah, now cursed, once blest,
jauntily claimed in jest,
jabbing thumb to proud chest,
“Justice? Lord, do Thy worst!”
Judith left the house first.

Bad Day

Brittle, uneven nails
Jabbing her skin
Kept her alert
While forcing a grin

Blank, saddened eyes
Skimming the faces
Sure, to keep moving
Refraining embraces

A mumbling cycle
Of indistinct chatter
Diverted attention
From what was the matter

Leaving the impression
She had little to say
With no one aware
She had a bad day

Premium Member You Have No Limits

“You can be anything you choose,” commencement speakers say.
“Your journey starts today. By persevering, you can’t lose!”
The graduates and audience all nod and smile and clap.
Some want to take a nap, but jabbing elbows interfere.
Conclusion: “Limits don’t exist unless they’re self-imposed!”

Bottomless Damn

I descended
Depths pulling
Ropes tightened
Swelling water
Chalky crimson
Pricks of loose twine
Slivers in my ear
Jabbing
Hard.
Red.
Flesh.
Strangling inside.

I collapsed
Head cocked back
Throat asphyxiated
Veins flooded
Liberated
Weaving in a downward
Spiral of hopelessness
Sustained vertigo
Aborted birthright
Chumming across the
Ocean floor

Premium Member Tribute to Progressive Politicians

Preening, posing, mouths always in motion
jabbing your fingers high in the air
Shouting and yelling, and screaming an ocean
of high-intensity rubbish and verbal warfare

O, progressive politicians, you make my day
you never let fiscal reality get in your way
You cut dashing figures in your pin-striped suits ~
as your 'tax-base' you fleece and you loot

Trust Killer

Back stabbing
Heart jabbing
When will this hurt heal?
Tears rushing down my face
My thoughts are in a race
Is this even real?
You went behind my back
Honesty is something you lack
How am I supposed to feel?
Chills rush down my spine...
I thought your trust was mine
I thought wrong and now
you're gone.
Out of sight but never out of
mind.
You're like a ticking bomb that
was never timed.

Unknown

I wonder what its like
To be a woman who conceives
A life grows inside her
That started from a seed.

I wonder what its like
To feel this wonder move inside
Kicking, jabbing, turning
Of this I am mystified.

I wonder what its like
This pain of giving birth
Something women endure
The suffering is well worth.

I wonder what its like
Holding a baby of your own
But for women like myself
This will forever be unknown.

Premium Member Knocked Out a Poem

I train my body, every second day
rest of the time, stretch my mind
Pumping iron, playing heavy metal
adds more weight, depth to rhyme

Hitting a punchbag, lets off steam
jabbing hard, tightly packed foam
Burning calories, fires up my brain
honed thoughts, will create a poem

Imagination stirs, no holds barred
muse unlocking, finding portal key
Tonight sky’s the limit, ready to roll
brain has other ideas, I fall asleep.

You Think

You shoulders scream in pain,
They feel they will rip from your body
Rope tied so tightly around your wrists
You feel warm blood drip from your fingers
Your legs are bound together
Knees jabbing into each other
You cannot feel your toes
The more you struggle
The more you bleed
The pool of blood surrounding you
Gets bigger as you weaken
In this room of your impending death
You begin to tire
Weaker and weaker
You think
You don't like bondage anymore.
