Soul
Safe place inside me
Deep within my heart
Hidden but not lost
Quiet but not mute
Never touched by fear

Childish spirit
Hunkering down
You are here now
Speak up Release

God within
Eternal
Voice of love

Living
Breathing

Soul....

Premium Member Thomas Turkey Avoids the Dreaded Axe
Tom Turkey got lost 'midst the teeming flock,

   Thus, avoiding the dreaded chopping block!

      Hunkering down spared his life,

         Averting the carving knife!

            He now recovers from traumatic shock!...

 Keep hunkering down
        This monstrosity shall pass

Premium Member Recalling 2011
Recalling 2011 Written: by Miracle Man August 12, 2021 A violent wind, thunderous, and loudly, moves some stationary things it touches. If in the “fraidy hole” hunkering proudly, you've evaded mother natures clutches “It’s an all-too-human frailty to suppose that a favorable wind will blow forever.” Rick Bode

Premium Member Pain
To love someone who couldn’t love back the same way

Only to be used and than discarded for there own selfish needs

Left out in a storm filled with darkness, no meaning why, but left

Hunkering down as the storm unleashes its worst upon your heart and soul

Bearing to witness the pain and sorrow
of days and weeks to months

It feels like hell

Letting go isn’t an option...

How To Rearrange Fate
Exchanging ions with the atmosphere
Yet hunkering down this
Deck of cards reveals
A future near and dear

Byways on the highways
Broken garbage emblems unremembered
The blood barriers still circulating
Truth and doubt

This atomic moment springs beyond symbols
Dont miss
The ecstatic dancing Shiva
Loosely twisting dark matter into beams of neon light

As eyelids turn down their shades
A question remains
How to rearrange fate?...

Premium Member End of Summer For Sure - Version 1 - Sad
Looking out my window this 38 degree morning
I saw that:

The bushes are weighted down
with the moisture;
the droplets on the verge of
morphing into ice;
hunkering against the cold.

The weeds are dead and stiff
with the end of a dry season;
now wet, turned into intensely
deep shades of brown
and ochre.

The tall un-mown grasses
are matted down
by fallen leaves,
saddened by season's end
and wet with shiny tears....

Hamburger
Hungrier than a wolf pack hunkering down the hill

A lpha teen male footballers share microwaving kill

Meat tonight they smell and enough to go around

Burgers make them happy and they munch with humming sounds

Under meat they peek to see if pickles thrill the palate

Grudgingly they toss the greens that try to pose as salad

Eating is a joy-- onion ketchup mustard gourmet mess

Running down their faces is a combination guess....

Looking out my window this 38 degree morning
I saw that:

The bushes are weighted down
with the moisture;
the droplets on the verge of

hunkering against the cold.

The weeds are dead and stiff
with the end of a dry season;

The tall un-mown grasses
are matted down
by leaves fallen at season's end,
gathering the moisture,
ready to rest from summer's toil
in a quiet and peaceful
dormancy....
