Premium Member It Would Not Be Lady Like

Would not be lady like
I smirked
Would be unmannerly
I snorted
Milk came out my nose
I farted my way across the floor into the living room
where my potential date was instantly horrified

Premium Member The Cake

They brought in the cake and did a devil’s dance.
I was horrified, for I had not thought of this prance.
For a long time, but I am getting much older now.
I can feel the heat of death on at least my left brow.

The heron was not about to release his catch.
I can imagine his delight as he dove into the water.

It has stopped struggling now.
Weird how fast we go from life to lunch

Fat cat was horrified when he stepped on the scale.
He had no idea of his poundage. Such a surprise!

HABOOB

Harried sands joins forces,
Hurrying towards us,
Heavy with thud of hooves.
Horrified! Seek shelter!
Hampered sun does not shine.
Hope sought in praying hands,
Hapless in the storm’s core.

Refined Sensitivities

Unwilling to be deadened
These, as make numb to
Its frequency, first screamed in
World's, for noise, cut through

So you find me, commoner
And true spokesman for
Mouthing ugly, more so, faced;
Horrified before.

Premium Member She Is Not Wrong

A writer?
You are kidding right?
My family reunion’s most judgmental great aunt is clearly horrified.

Everyone is a writer! She says, throwing up her arms.

I do not reply.
For the first time in forever, she is not wrong.

Premium Member She Should Come Out of the Closet

She should come out of the closet her mother said.
Her daddy was horrified, thinking she meant something else.
She came out in her own sweet time, wearing a snazzy prom dress.
You look terrific, her Daddy said, wondering about her now.

Premium Member Blank Page

A blank page has no shot with me
Not even a second to stare me down
I whip her into a frenzied tale
laughing maniacally at her anguish
or I create something so dark she is horrified
The one thing I do not do is make the paper blush.

Premium Member unhappy with her writing

Silence of the night split open
Consternated by a clamorous crack
Nettie stared at the paper
Took out an eraser

Evening’s still quiet was horrified
By the fortissimo of thunder
No good.
She began anew

One day there was a rain cloud.

Father

Given a tour through Hell, one does not emerge prestine.
Foresaken.
Facing myself horrified.
Time does not heal all.
Hate pour's over me as sea over sand.
Sand is to mirror, as my father is of me.
Foresaken.
The ability to frogive is courage.
I am a coward.

Controversy In a Nursery

Controversy In a Nursery

According to Trump plans it was precursory,
About what we have heard is a controversy;
There been;
Not let in;
Concerned immigration facilities with a nursery.

Senator from Oregon Jeff Merkley was horrified
when not let in.

Rain

Listen to the rain. It's wet but the sound sings.
You remember other rainy nights.
The million gray drops
Were small horrified cries from a maize without walls.
You called a friend in a faraway place.
You took long hot showers to relax.
You felt new rain on your skin.

Premium Member Soothsayer Predicts a Death

The soothsayer slowly moved her hand over the crystal ball.
I predict a death, she told the man.
I am sorry, but it might be your death.
This surprised his wife, and horrified his daughter.
They were astounded and shocked by this news.
Which is a bit odd
Since he is 91.

Infamy

Infamy is not dignified.

Or pleasant.

As the speculation would pool around me.

I would find myself degrading.

And feeling horrified.

Shaking from the travesty-

The one used to keep me safe.

Steeping in the empathy-

That they say I’m not capable of.

Premium Member Cargo

Commodities.
Packed up
Wedged together
Shut out from light and air,
Little creatures indifferent to life or death
Stacked.
Branded.
Horrified
Of what comes
With the open door.
Looking for the first opportunity
To Leap
Escape
This intolerable life.
The Mass grave
Of a two-dimensional reality.

Betrayed

Happy memories have me grimacing,

Beloved friend I would have given all for,

Unmercifully plunged a stake into my heart,

Relishing my every labored gasp for air,

Replaying each moment of my agony,

Trembling, I mouth the word "why,"

Staring into my horrified eyes, she laughed.
