There once was a king who told lies,
like a moth chasing gaslight they rise,
ever drawn to the flame,
unaffected by shame,
true democracy labors and sighs....

twigs of winding stairs
   climb glassy mirror of time```
   old memories wiped

saintly gaslight tails
fill lungs with pure crystal breaths ```
    new beginnings sprout

Time Passing
Gaslight room
you had it all
the laughing and dancing
You gave me words
but no tune
How time goes by
when you're trying to enjoy yourself

Doffing your head
its the madness without a glint
The gamblers are playing a winning game
They say your love cant fit
Playing the mandolin
The only crime is being blindfolded
washed down your stale wine...

Gaslighting
Gaslighting is and does cunningly deceive,
A twisted dance of falsehoods spun around,
Doubt blooms, reality's roots unbound,
Truth Is doubt and doubt is truth world round.

Emotions frayed, like fragile threads they fray,
Confusion reigns, as truth gets led astray,
Yet in this darkness, strength shall rise anew,
Empowered hearts, the gaslight can't subdue....

Monster In My Head
BETRAYER of worlds, EVIL mongrel, you
REEK of the poison which delivers one
Final BLOW to my buzzing brain.
Alone, I shall survive, as I always do.
Hell hath no FURY like the sweet revenge
I shall set upon you.
I will not lie or wander in this
Purgatory any longer, questioning and
Writhing in PAIN.
Gaslight me again and I shall set you
AFLAME.
Not a threat, not a threat, but a
Promise....

Giving me subtle clues they don't care
Asking me to work 9 hour shifts without a lunch break
Staying late and arriving early every shift
Lying to myself about the sciatica shooting down my leg
Intrinsically frustrated with my life
Giving it all despite the inevitable fall
Highlighting the fool in my heart
Too much of a team player to give up

Makes me wish I didn't care
Even though I enable my self-destruction

A Special Recommendation
I completely trust Bob
On every tricky job,
For all that he knows,
The way his thought flows;
For his wisdom that grows.

Up Bob’s idea would bob,
From cynics snatching the power to rob…

Bob never was all his life, a half wit,
Even, The Best of The Really Fit,
Who could like a gas light
Keep a firm firmly bright
To all its corner lending a white!

So, please, do not him,
As advised by Lord Kim,
Cast into a Joseph’s pit;
Or our gains are already split!...

Premium Member Lies and Truth Bread and Butter To Some
Do you hate so much that you would cut of my own hand,
And spread your love to others like butter placed on bread,
To spew truths like some vomit wrenching drunken pleb,
Then gaslight written words like your pen had never said?

Should I plead to a poisoned heart that's escaped its cage,
And offer counsel when demons within your mind engage ?
For I am not your dog who barks, rolls over and plays dead,
So I shall sharpen my tongue and butter you with truth instead....
