Surrendering frost
Frees spring from the ice
Daybreak sees what shadows lost
Flower-colored footpaths
Crystal thawing birdbaths
Winter's sacrifice

Fern and bluebell thrive Dense trees forging green shelter Footpaths meander. Mystery at every turn Gnarled roots display nature's art. Forest canopy Dappled sunlight and shadow Rustling undergrowth Spring is stirring steadily Epiphany of nature.

Premium Member Raining Memories
A time ago I walked the long road
Lost any memories of stories told
Fog so thick I could not be found
Landmarks foreignly placed around
A cold wind carried an empty song
Resonating like some echoing gong
Raining can carry everything away
Submerging footpaths of yesterday...

New Year
Never look forward while looking backward
Ensure that your path is without obstacles
While you ponder going towards the future

Yesterdays will soon be a distant memory
Even hurtful memories will be with us today
Accept these as a learning tool to live by
Resolutions are our tomorrow footpaths...

Premium Member Backroads
Listen to poem:
Gathering wild strawberries
And meadow flowers

Exploring footpaths
Running along streams
And climbing trees

Chasing butterflies
Spotting nests
Petting furry caterpillars
And cuddling kitty cats

Life explodes with wonder
Meandering backroads of my mind
Unadulterated freedom of adventure
Nature the way a child remembers

Busy feet meet
On Monday streets;
No time to greet

~~~~~~~~~
Crowded avenues
Distant faces;
Private To-Do lists
~~~~~~~~~

Wet dawn
Overnight rain;
Messy footpaths

~~~~~~~~~
Blank faces
Anxious distractions;
Too much data
~~~~~~~~~

TV dramedy
Laughter riots;
Good medicine here

~~~~~~~~~
Scars upon the heart grow deeper With every loved one taken from me So lonely as the weary weeper I have learned acceptance frees me to make my peace with destiny Some tears will wash away the pain along the footpaths I have climbed I will persevere and then regain a willingness to re-design my attitude, and cherish time
Footbridge Chicken
At the footbridge I saw a chicken,
trying to keep its balance
as it flapped its wings. It felt dizzy
when it saw the abyss below it,
which swallowed time and matter.
Surprisingly the chicken kept on
with the journey, claw after claw. It
wasn't chicken-hearted like most
chickens. It was ready to walk
on wooden footpaths which cracked
in every step,
until it reached the other end.
It had crossed the road;
now it was crossing a footbridge....
Losing His Way
Author:  Chen Runping
He came up from the main road
While ahead watching numerous footpaths in the field,
Crisscrossed as a web.
He paced up and down in the web
And his thickly dotted footprints
Filled up the grid meshes
One by one.
Hardly can he
Walked through the web
And still paced up and down.
watching the years gone like river water
He has already had scales on his body
While his hands and feet retrograded into fins
And downstream
With which he struck violently and
Lost...
