Change of Heart

Scars upon the heart grow deeper
With every loved one taken from me
So lonely as the weary weeper
I have learned acceptance frees me
to make my peace with destiny

Some tears will wash away the pain
along the footpaths I have climbed
I will persevere and then regain
a willingness to re-design
my attitude, and cherish time
