A Football Player

A football player
A football player, whose name is Paul
Spent hours playing with his ball.
He’s won a prize with his team
And it wasn’t a night dream

A football player named Zay
Made an exceptional play.
The ref called it flaunting,
But I thought it quite daunting.
Can't a guy celebrate a great day?

Johnny Unitas

The Greatest Football Player Ever
What more can I say
These are his collage yearbooks
I built this cabinet in honor of him
As a child I was Johnny Unitas

I will become a conqueror when I grow up the young girl said.
With her lovely freckled face, fresh emerald eyes, and hair of red.
Or a race car driver
Or a scuba diver
Maybe even a professional football player or a flower bed.

A Poem For Sid Luckman

A great Jewish football player
Led the Bears to a 73 - 0 win
My late father and my uncle
saw him play
Not too many Jewish football players
But there was one - a great one !
As the years pass
    his memory fades
But on TV - the electric warriors
Continue to battle on !

Premium Member Three Men In the Laundry

A farmer, a poet and a football player
in the laundry working
one scratching
one painting
one contemplating
words in an
artistic manner
one wanted to vomit
at the thought of it
the other felt a poem
coming on
whilst I tried to
string together the
attempt of capturing
that very moment.
