My greatest thrill at this very advanced age
Is watching the Raptors and the battles they wage
If they make it through
To the finals woohoo
Excitement reigns, they got it made in the shade
I
A space of stacked stress
And clothes on the floor
His room is a mess
And his life is a chore
Professors didn’t care
And his grades didn’t either
He sees the end there-
Oh, time the deceiver!
The ‘lionesses’ lost to Spain
Spain’s players are quaffing champagne
I may be unkind
But was the ref’s blind
My reasoning may be insane
I googled the Penso surname
The origin could be from Spain
Perhaps there’s some bias
So Spaniard's could Gaius
From watching finals I’ll abstain!
Finals suck yes its true, finals suck, it makes me blue.
Finals are not fun you’ll see, for everyone is full of plea.
Finals are required, but why?
The state wants to see how we have improved in our knowledge
Finals make everyone want to die.
Once finals are done, everyone dances with glee
They aren't fun, you’ll see
Finals Result
A month before,
Begins the tension,
Something you would like to,
Give a detention.
Of being grounded for a month,
Is perhaps the fear,
Or getting a spanking,
And shedding many tears.
Or perhaps it’s competition just plain,
Or fear of falling behind the class,
The probabilities are clear,
More clearer than glass.
I should be watching Rafa
In my Rafa hat and shirt,
But Wimbledon is at a loss
Because Nadal is hurt.
He won the quarterfinals
With an injury to cause
Some pain when he was serving
And it seems that gave him pause.
So he withdrew and all his fans,
Of course including me,
Are disappointed, knowing
In the finals he won’t be.
The best part of the year has come,
The pools are now all open.
We only have one obstacle to clear,
That very last obstacle is rather clear.
That Obstacle is a six foot hurdle,
built on solid knowledge,
Math, Science, English, History and more!
But we can do it were IB!
We shall study them all;
Math, Science, English, and History

Fear not, doubt's dark whispers,
embrace the testing ground.
We face the same old existential dreads -
the unexpected twist, the vague essay prompt.
Genial birdsong mocked our anxious morning
and squirrels still scampered unconcerned.
“You’re a beautiful bundle of stress,”
I assured Lisa this morning
as I handed her her water bottle.
When England play semi finals they tend to draw,
losing on penalties to teams who score more,
someone will miss one of that we are sure,
repeating the fate of the England before,
The tale of the shoot out we've had to endure,
in extra time last night Harry Kane didn't score,
but the rebound he did and the nation did roar,
missing but winning, ironic galore
Sunbathing again, at my girlfriends poolside
She looked so very lovely; relaxed in bronze
As physics finals had drained us completely
Burning both ends of our midnights candles
Asking if we would like a drink; sïlk dreams..
Her beautiful mother; stunningly, gorgeous
Sending my pulse racing everytime I beheld
Knowingly, her mesmerizing beauty the way
Want would smile gazing deep, into my eyes.
simply awake
No music lulls
No quiet snoozes
No counting naps
No stretching tires
My clock taunts me
No comfort lullabies
No breathing relaxes
Pajamas strangle me
No coolness soothes
No meditation stupors
No visualization sleeps
No position tranquilizes
No supplements sedate
No aromatherapy calms
or finger painting slumbers
I am insomnia’s vigilant sentry.
Where, oh where's the sandman?
Even though many my days are numbered;
the forever setting sun.
And with the number of days at hand,
my imagination is on the run.
It creeps about day in and day out;
eternal bliss of envy and sight.
It screams aloud about my dorm,
one more number this night.
For as finals draw near;
I get less and less sleep.
And as the sun starts to rise,
I hope these lessons will seep.
We were friends in our college days,
no distinction of our riches,
Were all the same living our days.
Of the four years, three passed,
In the finals, few flunked in test,
For the few, year lost till next test,
No money for few, for next test.
A friend, asked - fund needed,
He said, you don't look very rich,
But I know, your parents are rich,
Help me, goes extra mile from rich,
His smile never faded.
ODE TO THE AFL!!! (Melbourne, Australia, a unique whimsy)
Are footy fanatics,
Total raving lunatics?
The flag's in the bag!
We've got some lively lads,
Best we've ever had!
Peter Pans on pot,
The flags that time forgot,
Footy finals fever,
Talk about dream weavers!
Footy finals phobias,
TV claustrophobia,
Why didn't we win?
Any old excuse again!
Footy fanatics,
Raving lunatics,
Footy finals fever,
Melbourne's dream weavers!
(And we wouldn't have it any other way!!)
