River Wok
whiskered water cats
caught and cleaned in fresh fillet
sizzling river wok

For PD’s River Walk(?) contest
Do not throw the ball to me;
Honesty? It’s nails on chalk;
You wonder what I would do
if you were moving away;
the grit lingers on my hand
Stop making this so easy!
The tracks fillet the old board
Can you handle the answer?
Salmon steak or fillet
Choose fillet or salmon
steak
Either way I can get it
Is alright with me
I enjoy a salmon steak
Cooking on the barbecue
Or the fillet is tasty to
Either way I enjoy it
Salmon from a can
Is handy to have
For a salad bowl
Or making salmon
patties
Death by 5 In The Kitchen, The Other Murder
My wife must hate cow...
because she cannot avoid insulting it.
A choice fillet I did purchase.
Served medium rare would be perfect.
But, as for her, I can scarcely concur.
She must absolutely, positively... burn it.
Poor cow.

Things slip away.
Obeying laws of
cause and affectation,
diction pictures words
as sounds.
Hounds bay at lunatics.
Sticks and bones
fillet my stones.
Millet and rye
make me cry.
Ground beneath my feet,
a swaying beat
repeats
repeats
depletes me of my
funky mood.
Shall we dance?
I was reeled in
Not knowing if I was
Swimming...or broken
I swallowed your line
Starving for what you fed me
Dumbstruck and wounded
There was no fight,
No chance that I would not
Succumb to your lures
Maybe here was my chance
To witness saviour
But now I see
You have chosen
To fillet and release
My heart.
And there's plenty more fish in the sea.
For those like you.

Young Mary wanted to learn how to cook,
she didn’t like the recipes of the book.
So, chose her favorite food,
she knew that would be so good.
On hand lessons from her mother she took.
She decided to cook crispy fish fry,
went to the kitchen to give it a try.
Pan was red hot, she didn’t care,
fillet got burnt in the flare.
With a sigh she vowed to bake apple pie.

red , tender and sauced like sun
juicy slices float
on sizzling olive oil streams
spiced with herbal mounds…
tongue swells orgasmic,
decadent

Cat Café had an extraordinary chef, Raff McRayley
Pick your own fish, he told his customers daily
I can fillet them, fry them, sauté’ them or dry them.
Daddy Cat said, “I just want a taste, I want to try them.”
“I like them raw, said Buck the Cat, swallowing three.
That was expensive! Said the sou chef, Mrs. Bree-Lee.
Daddy cat said, “I thought a taste would be free.”
“it would have been, but by cracky, your son ate three!”
Borrowed the neighbors chainsaw
Oiled it, sharpened the blades
Never used one before
Except that time I tried to fillet a fish
Had to trim my tree
Each branch trespassed next door
Already ate their criticisms for lunch
Dang! How do you start this thing?
Better read the instructions again
Life erupts from inanimate arbor barber
Usually, this job would be a breeze
Except, I sliced through the limb...
Severed my left shinbone
When the phone rang the other day
It made me laugh, I let my mind play
I had to stop and check the date
I heard every word in an even toned way
I felt your words were over played
And yea I guess I fell in love the same
I clearly recall the time I saw you last
Let me stop here and say I appoligze for that
The way I behaved a sinister fillet
You had every reason to be irrate
Listening to your every word blammed
Lost in a world severly inflammed

Flicking
Like a snake’s tongue
Out and in
Long scars
From under the loose cuffs of her long sleeves
No matter the sultry summer day
Crisscrossed up and down
The banana skin of her underarms
Raw shiny and tiny stained like tomato kisses
Smeared and left from the lips
Of her childhood Barbie
Sitting propped and prepped
Cross-legged
At a miniature set dinner table
Of delectable plastic
Fruits and cakes
Shrimp and fillet
Waiting forever for her Ken.
