Premium Member A Wind Rolls
Calm castle of cards,
hold that hand close to your chest.
Festooned with clover
a soft wind rolls through the mote,
goosebumps raised by a gamble....

Sagging Dreams
Blown into tiny smithereens
Festooned with velvet drapes
A nightly dream, what could it mean
Holding the fast escape

Waiting to meet another sun
Dreams lined up the clothesline
Sagging to revive unread plan
Let free my confined mind

Through the looking glass
An undoubtedly strange place
Gold doesn't always glitter there
On their glory days
Film stars are festooned
And paraded around town
When they fall from grace...
Even once, they're hog-tied
And thrown off a bridge!

One Tree
the tree stands guard out on the lonely plain
a beacon for all to see
and the world is at peace

it's leaves are festooned with the look of spring
a ring of flowers beneath
a sign of peace to come

yet no one looks upon this tree of peace
too caught up in their own way
and never to know peace

Premium Member Loneliness
I woke up this morning
I was all alone
The one from midnight
had flown away to
a land of mysteries

I stared at blank walls
Cursed the silent crickets
I imagined myself to
float over harbors
festooned in her colors

Then I knew what to do
Since you won’t come
I must go alone to
the quiet of your breath
ringing in my ears...

Darkling
Under waning moon and festooned sky
With darkness to illuminate the night
It is already morning
Though beneath blackened heavens
One couldn't hope to know
It will soon reverse its darkling effect.

This is faith beyond the wraith
This is hope surpassing spectres
Yesterday's sun is no
Assurance of today's
But faith sticks out its hand
Until warmed by mornings kiss....

The Pillar Falls
The Pillar Falls
the pillar, an act of craftsmanship
solid, festooned and decorated
beautifully designed and plated,
its each brick hooked and slated,
stood as proud attraction in the chapel.
then, aged with seasons and weathers
craven, cracked and dilapidated
dreadfully deserted and haunted,
its each edge blunt, surface perforated,
fell into a pile of shapeless rubble...

Premium Member Pendulums
The pained pendulum pushes through the fog
With the ever-crashing splash of rheumatic guilt
Licking at the swinging bronze from below.
We lose God again and again
In the cluttering of thoughts
Like the burnt wings of butterflies
Over-used, over-driven, and
Over-flapped and now here
Festooned to a wheelchair he sits
Staved and dying from stale love.
And needing my help....

The Unsung Melody
I still remember,
that lovers' point
and, those days of love,
we vowed to meet
across seven seas,
like the pairs of dove.

An era of ecstasy that was,
festooned with sarcasm for fun
And ,in a fit of craziness, as,
we were poised to die as one.

Alas ! the bout of melancholy, that was
I was dead in your absence,
in desperation ,had chosen to live
with ghosts ,in a city of silence....

on brink of summer
an eager Painted Lady
first to the party

drifting pollen swathes
golden contours round wood’s edge
fox cubs exploring

festooned with blossom
blackbird trills in paradise
serenades his world

ladybird in rain
slides down slippery palm frond
tiny splash in pool

nature varied in its forms
a wonderful world adorns

I Rose
Like helium…my red rose soul
a mylar balloon festooned
with garlands of beveled blue ...snapdragon green
a yellow sun …bursting forth upon my shimmering surface
golden tentacles stretching around the distended orb of my beating heart
Lilting …lifting….soaring ..............upwards

so high…so high …so very very high
I could not care... if I might die

and fall…Icarus de-feathered
back to the tar
…the sick dark hot black tar ...of truth...

Premium Member Monsters Madness
Thunder rumbles lightning flashes.
Druids chant rhythmic runes.
Electrifying tonights mood.
Tis Draculas Halloween bash.
Wolfman arrived in a mask
And his houndstooth zoot suit.
Six witches with red sashes
Flew loops on hickory brooms.
If Frankensteins' bride laughs
It sounds like raspy kazoos.
Ten fashionable tom cats
Wore bat festooned top hats.
As The Ghouls band played bassoons.
At Count Draculas bashes
Each dance is monster's Madness.
But the punch was new hemlock brew....
