Joseph Biden, President,
Current White House resident.
His faculties are in decline,
But his handlers say he's doing fine.
An empty useless mark
On dreary days left dark
Arouse my faculties, burst forward into light
Never waste life's time or ever lose my sight
It pains me to remember.
You might not have your full faculties.
Your words still cut deep.

If I die in complete control
Of my mental faculties whole
Blessing above duely sent
If use mental gift heart and soul
My spirit under God's control
Some day will ascent
Still going strong after all these years
Still got my faculties at least between the ears
How long? Dunno!
Maybe tomorrow, who knows!
Life has no guarantees, so far three cheers!
Still going strong after all these years
Still got my faculties at least between the ears
How long? Dunno!
Maybe tomorrow, who knows!
Life has no guarantees, so far three cheers!
Floating under the surface,
stones weighting my body,
gremlins and goblins
are hobbling my soul;
I'm full to o'erflowing,
my faculties failing,
I'm one with the fishes,
I've found my way home.
Floating under the surface,
stones weighting her body,
gremlins and goblins
were hobbling her soul;
she's full to o'erflowing,
her faculties failing,
she swam with the fishes
and found her way home.

...an epitaph for Virginia Woolf
befuddled with liquor
hearing noises in the distance
unclear fuzzy thinking
faculties blown
lah-lah-land feeling
outer space beyond comprehension
inhibitions gone
someone maneuvers your body
you do not care
fences gone
whatever happens happens
a dangerous place
I mused, foolhardy. I messed around
With sentiment attached to place.
Now soul makes off with my faculties!
Essence parts with my name and face!
Down the otway's surge of tranquil-sipped
Memories, fern-chilled; into the bay
Apollo, as alluvial gold
Which flow. Whence comes then my dismay?
...for Virginia Woolf
Submerged 'neath the surface,
stones weighting her body,
gremlins and goblins
are hobbling her soul.
Images jar,
and memories jostle,
her compass is gone
but she's in full control.
Lungs overflowing,
her faculties failing,
she's one with the fishes,
at last she is whole.
...for Virginia
Floating under the surface,
stones weighting her body,
gremlins and goblins
are hobbling her soul.
Images jar,
memories jostle,
her compass is gone
yet she's in full control.
Full to o'erflowing,
her faculties failing,
she's one with the fishes,
at last she is whole.
...for Virginia
Floating under the surface,
stones weighting her body,
gremlins and goblins
are hobbling her soul.
Images jar,
and memories jostle,
her compass is broken,
she's out of control.
She's full to o'erflowing,
her faculties failing,
she's one with the fishes,
she's found her way home.
Some day this quest
Shall cease; Some day
For aye
Some time or another
This journey should stop
This heart might rest
In peace
Often times
Regularly, I nearly feel
The quiet
The calm
Upon my faculties take
So delicate
And everything, except hear
The dead leaves stir close to me
A sign to be very still
It’s been a long day
My exhausted faculties
Gone, they fall apart
I desire to finally
Be alone, fall on a couch
And my computer
Is near, ready for input
There for my comfort
For poetry is my heart
And soul of true relaxing

...an epilogue for Virginia Woolf
it's crunch time
bottom of the line
but i think that's
more meant to be
like i'm dying but
never give to that
which will make
you stronger
so i thought about
maybe bagging
groceries and
go figure i can
see myself
bagging an old
woman's
groceries
thinking
wow she has
all her faculties
but suddenly snap
back to reality
i'm bagging
groceries
for an
old
man

The sky invites us openly to dance around the rim of daily grinds
if only we would listen,
the clouds implore us earnestly to weep when sorrow calls but sadly we are deaf, the sea, it opens up its gallery of ocean murals, salted fables, naval yarns, dawn to dusk,
if only we, the Royal We, would use those faculties that Mother Nature gifted us
A strange experience though
Engulfed it anyhow
Your silence: a midnight forest
Piercing arrows, gruesome at the best
All the faculties of head had dried up but
You watered such
That it flooded
Good betrays in this world sometimes
You are given but worst reward; grapes and limes
Oh! That muse of poetry
Is it that you waited for
No! No to such inspiration
Such a cruel creation.
Good old ageing inevitably involves loss
Affecting our faculties
Varied for each individual
Different losses ,different degrees
Frustrating and difficult it is
A struggle at times to say the least
Adjusting and learning to cope with
“Life’s old age beast”
Along with losses there are personal gains
We individually accrue
The greatest blessing age has gifted me
Is absolute appreciation and gratitude!
Relieving from sorrows of ‘samsara’
Looking for an augury
Wasted Time is up
I will not close my eyes
Looking at the eyes of Buddha
Immersing in the
Overflowing metta stream
Enlightening the mind
Wash the dirt off
Awakening the five faculties
Taking the piety flowers
Blooming in the heart
Offer Buddha feet
Locate in Ariya path
Leading to Nirvana relief
Cutting off ‘Raga’ suffers
Wrapping my body
Worship Buddha feet
In the moments,
when sadness descends upon
and loneliness surrounds my heart
The absurdity of life
reveals before my eyes
winds of obscurity drifts away:
all my faculties
The moon of hope hides
behind the clouds of disappointment
stars of memories dismantle
from the sky of mind
when darkness whirl around
and longings weep deep inside
heart seems to stand still
music of life stops
in those moments
if YOU happen to come....

There isn’t much in life I fear
But certain words I’d hate to hear
Our memory is a treasure chest of all things dear
But when the brain fails, memories start to disappear
If your faculties start to go
And the ones you love, you start not to know
Becoming locked insides ourselves with nothing to show
Then time itself becomes our biggest foe
What will it be like when the brain starts really dying
Do we continue to live or just stop trying
Why I now, "Just say no"
Light turns to black
Everything slowly fades away
Mental faculties no longer react
Curtain call to life's play
The key factor in this demise flows through the veins
Ravaging the body until nothing remains
Nothing good that needle contained
Next time may put me six feet under on my back

Dear Heart
As the spoken word of God resounds
It fueled our faculties with might
As rainbow shades and shapes abounds
There came a song of joy delight
Like waves, it swelled in pools of plenty
The voice of God had reached new heights
It soothes and warms our hearts once empty
We are elated; another realm is school of light
Poetry and light, and life preserved
Such lessons we learn, in doing what's right
Believe on these gifts so many observes
Give thanks! pure poetry equals life.
