Examination Room
Examination room
Is theater of anxiety
Where examiner has
Surgeon’s knife ready
To cut the brain open
And expose quantity
Of foolishness hiding
Otherwise unknown...

The Role of a Teacher Today
The teacher is believed
To be an all rounder
For a record holder in education
An educator, advisor, counsellor, planner, examiner and innovator
Just like a remote control
For some nonmachinerised, noncomputerised or nondigital devices
The 'nude' and innocent children
Born today going to tomorrow...

You Are Not a Valentine
As if you care
Serial killer of the spirit
Finder of fault
Happily dissatisfied
Microscopic examiner
Master of cruel detachment
Offering negative affection
Player of head games
Restless prowler
Spreading unhappiness
Stalker
User of verbal abuse
Wrecker of relationships
You have become transparent.
The game is ended.
You are not a Valentine....

Second Chance - Driving Test
My driving I thought was sublime
But I failed my test the first time
Staring down at the wheel
It was hard to conceal
That failure to me was a crime
So I applied to take another test
Very determined I would try my best
I answered every question
And I drove to perfection
The examiner was very impressed!

Revolving Resolution
Written by Gail DeBole
Zelma Zotz's new year's contribution
Is to think of a definite solution
To avoid making a plan
(which she really can't stand)
For yet another new year's resolution!
Note: Illustrated in Coloring within the Limericks available on Amazon.com and other retail websites.
Gail's Note: You can find some historical information about the history of the new year's resolution at http://www.examiner.com/article/history-of-new-year-s-resolutions....

Beryl the Peril
My auntie her first name is Beryl
Put other road users in peril
She mounted the sidewalk
The pedestrians squawk
and report her to Sherriff Merrill
The Sherriff puts her under arrest
as Beryl says she tried her best
But before Beryl kills
With her dire driving skills
He insisted she retakes her test
The examiner discovered that
Aunt Beryl is as blind as a bat
So it made perfect sense
To decline her licence
I’m as pleased as a Cheshire cat!
