I am here on the red carpet at the VMAs and Young Rapper is sporting a Kevlar liner under AR500 plates front and back with RattleSnake Armor enhancements on his other vital areas. Best in show....

Kudos to the designers. Bravo. Bravo....

It is when we traverse our waning years,
with some embellishing enhancements,
or any medical type of any intervention,
then realize there is no justice to aging.

Enhancements

Sapphire oranges glowing red,
   disoriented mind, mixed up head.
Bright colors kaleidescoped dead,
tired eyes it's time for bed...

Freezing sunlight sweating skin,
heat torched goose bumps of sin.
Tropical shivers hullicinations begin,
I just don't know if I can do this again......

Pioneers are frontier first responders,
More afraid of becoming than risking.
After a boundary is breached, the dice rolled,
Or a solution envisioned, come the sequiturs,
Each with enhancements for the thesis
To shade its sun and tame its winds
With their strictures of stasis.

Pioneers wither under conditions of such certainty....

Enhancements
There are surgeries for bigger boobs
And bigger butts, as well
As implants meant for males to thus
Enhance their size and swell.

An article that I just read
(New Yorker Magazine)
Described such a procedure
And the problems often seen.

Why someone’d choose to surgically
Enlarge, for ego‘s sake,
A body part that functions
Seems, to me, a huge mistake....

Ordinary
We fight each and everyday
not to be ordinary

But think about all the
disabled kids who get
surgical enhancements
just so they can hear,feel
and see the things we do.

Were so stuck on getting
the perfect noes and
wearing the best clothes.
Being ordinary to us clearly
blows.

But lets ask a deaf person or blind
which life they would have chosen.
I know if the shoe could successfully
fit any of their toes ordinary
would be like winning the lotto....

Drunk
I could say that it was all the drinks
I could say that she didn't really think
I could say that Ciroc played it part
But the words she said came from the heart
I wont' blame it on the alcohol
It doesn't justify the way that she acted at all
What came out was laying there deep inside
It only took the enhancements
for her to say what she really on her mind
The next time we find this place
I think that I will just walk away
For I never want to see
when drunk has taken over again...

Listen to poem:
The Thresholds of Tomorrow
David J Walker

It is 1959 and
the television

is my constant companion
Comforting me during breakfast

Praying at noon over meals
Saying good night before

Turning out the light sparkling
Over its ghostly screen

	Flickering gray & green
Retreating into infinity

Speaking of the expanse and
The advanced enhancements
Of 1960

When new math counts life by
the numbers 1-0

there will be no returning from
the thresholds of tomorrow...
