I sit for many hours in a day
With never very much to say
I pound on a board
With my calls ignored
Just to get a measly pay
A young girl with cleavage to spare
Found employment as an au pair
Her boss was excited
Because she delighted
In giving her assets fresh air
Segregated schools
Segregated hospitals
Segregated neighborhoods
Segregated employment
Segregated politics
Segregated life
Segregated churches
The Job For Freddy
Tying knots was the job for Freddy
It didn't pay much, but was steady
Early to work
He would not shirk
I guess you'd call that knot ready!
Lady Guinevere decided to follow her passion
By finding employment as a hired assassin.
She practiced technique
On her cousin Monique,
But found the guillotine to be out of fashion.

I was working to earn my pay,but i'm out of work today.
I hope and pray that, another job comes my way?
I need the routine in my life, to keep the depression
and worry at bay. Please dear God send somemore
employment my way amen.
lucky are
those who work...
unlucky are
those who don't have
employment...are not lazy
those who don't work
for lack of employment...
Are the unfortunate ones...
the gravediggers crest
two crossed scraping shovels
lifelong employment
they dig a large hole
occupant won’t see their work
yet pays final bill

I recall clearly, my mom took me to peek
at the calico box crab roadside circus freak.
Some kids have a tooth fairy, my reward, more oblique.
I stood, mouth agape, quite unable to speak.
I had a strange childhood, you might call it unique,
before reaching adulthood, employment to seek.
Yuletide qualms?
Offer gifts, food and alms
It’s Christmas, observe St. Stephen’s plaint...
Be a blessing, serve the needy without restraint,
be Good King Wenceslas, who is the poor man’s saint.
Many suffer, employment at bay
their year-end bonus pay
Boxing Day
Today is the beginning
of an incredible year
I will be more positive
I will find peace with myself
I will find new employment
where i can make more money
I will lose weight and feel better
I will be myself and not
let anyone change me!
I will write poetry
and publish more this year...
If muses
have sacred meanings
deeper
and before secular evolving purposes,
As ordained vocations
are to painful employment,
Then what music
would
could
should we prefer outside
to health care inside
digest?
Together peaceful
in resonance
Deeper
and before traumatic
warring
wearied
worn out dissonance.

My wife taught me this way to make a poem.
There I was reaching thirty
just been widowed year before
now the work place was to close
redundancy now at my door
But friend told me of a vacancy
at local wholesalers for food buyer
so few months before work closing
went for interview before got fire
So got the job at wholesaler
made redundant on the Friday
start Monday as a buyer
in continued employment I did stay
Cookery is slavery if you don’t partake of the meal
It becomes foolery if you keep settling the bill
It is misery if you repeat the drill
Familiarity leads to rats chilling in the grill
Employment is exploitation if you can’t get a fair deal
It becomes poverty if you keep taking the pill
It is deprivation with tax deductions on your will
Gullibility that leads the thieves to steal
Most competitive amusing employment
in transacting tired
old school entertainments
support economic
and political services
to and from
highest corporate
commercial out-bidders.
Most cooperative musing
wraps in sacred
musical new year vocations
for engaging transpositions
empowering
enlightening
bicameral humane/divine
deepest systemic
and widest compassionate
co-listeners.
Santa Goes High Tech
By Elton Camp
It was foggy one Christmas eve
He’d get lost, Santa did believe
To a bright-nosed deer he did say
Rudolph, won’t you lead the way?
So there was a new member of his team
With permanent employment it did seem
When Santa got himself an iPhone
Rudolph’s job was very soon gone
An app he found his sleigh to guide
So poor Rudolph was pushed aside
The clock ticks
When will the world fix
Everyday concerns
As in, equality for all
And an educational system
Where all learn?
No more Ivy League colleges
For bragging rights
All knowledge is to enhance
Ones insight
For employment
No more unbalanced scales
For opportunity
All shall be able to hear
The bell
The clock ticks
When will people fix
A social system
Where all men mix?
man
just got back from the beach
blue skies....75 degree weather....classic beach music in my ear....lost in the waves' rhythms....
here i am
weekend getaway over
cloudy, drab skies....rain all day....45 degree windy weather....head in the clouds....
it's alright though
for in a few weeks time,
i am going back!
HOORAY FOR STEADY EMPLOYMENT!
WORK HARD....PLAY HARD....PURE ENJOYMENT!
If "play is the work of a child"
Then never grow up,
Except in understanding.
And in learning what you love,
Search and find it in reality
And do it with enjoyment.
Live out your childhood.
But if work is the stress of life
As an adult, then
Execute strategic planning
"Like a small beginning
to a mighty end". It's your play!
Be happy with your employment.
Make moves for your good.
Buses
Dear Buses
Daily you commutes us humans from one place to another
You do not hiss
You do not cry
You are so patient
You are so enduring
Without you we humans could not have reached our destinations
Without you our journeys would have been slow and dull
You provides employment to many people
From drivers to conductors
From bus manufacturers to bus sellers
Without you we are Nothing!
A supervisor led me to a cubicle
among a maze of others.
I was given a computer
displaying columns of numbers.
All I had to do was move the figures
from one column to another.
I soon ran out of things to do.
I watched cat videos.
I asked for guidance.
I wanted to know
what I was doing and why?
When I said that
I will never forget the look of terror
on their faces.
Today I found out I'm losing my job,
the news took my breath away;
What am I going to do for employment?
my bills how am I going to pay?
I have one week to make a plan,
and find something new to do;
Two weeks before Christmas,
these words have left me blue.
Lord I kneel down before you,
in honest heartfelt prayer;
Please guide me where you want me to go,
please help with this new burden I bare.
