He sings a lullaby under the stars;
dreamland awaits them in grim abattoirs.
Git along, little dogies;
cowboy’s warding off bogies,
crossing the plains to those last cattle cars.

dem bowlaigs sure hard to beat,

heading home and life is sweet,
when the cattle are a grazing ,
and the sun is setting low,
an the night watch is stargazing,
a sweeter life i do know,

To town with ten little shoes on his toes
Purple hair and a square blue nose
Ten grey flowers for Cimarron Rose
An itty bitty teeny weeny cowboy hat 
Vaquero chaps and a little dogies tat
A plug of chaw and a lariat
Two six-shooters and a shoulder rat
He sure looks silly; he sure looks strange
