Premium Member Hearts Afire
Clad in a negligee, I hear him whisper, “Come to me.”
Demurely I withdraw, but he rushes to me filled with passion.
Taking me in his arms, he kisses me, setting hearts afire....

Golden Glory
A golden leaf, silently falling
Returning to earth that created it earlier
Gently... slowly... breezily 'tis transported
Landing humbly on its side, bowing, submitting
Its end has arrived, it demurely relinquishes...

Premium Member adverbs are my favorites
adverbs dress up ordinary verbs
easily, quickly, confidently,
jokingly, suspiciously, cagily,
demurely, purely, delicately,
deliberately, justifiably, undeniably,
jubilantly, whimsically flippantly
they may be my favorite parts of speech...

Premium Member Artist, This Is a Spring Landscape
Spring. The grass oh so green grows on the field. A carpet on the land resembles green velour. A blue sky hovers over. A yellow sun illuminates. A few white clouds drift quite demurely. Artist, now’s the time to spread your canvas.

Virginal Glow
Sweet lady, This evening moon casts an ambient glow Allowing the innocence you possess to shine through The virginal smile of youth show demurely upon your face As the light seems to have captured a particular moment in time Smile for me, oh dear one, and let me gaze upon the beauty that is you

Premium Member Sketch of a Dream
Nature is a sketch
of the tenuous hold we have
on formidable time.
No season stands immutable -
each an interlude - one to another.

Demurely, summer gives way to Fall.
Bereft of leaves, brittle branches rattle
against a crisp blue sky.
When winter enfolds us all we dream;
the collective dream of spring.

Eight word sketch

Life's Epilogue
Crossing over,
  I thought it’d be different

Crossing over,
  I thought things would change

Crossing over,
  I thought I’d be better

Crossing over,
  I fought through the rain

Now looking back,
  I see demurely

Now looking back,
  I see through the fog

Now looking back,
  I see more clearly

Now looking back
  —through life’s epilogue

Face of a Goddess
She walked into my universe silently as her lovely smile. Rarely such beauty is preserved Bar, perhaps, a Grecian profile: some alabaster sculptured head Cold, soulless in a museum Of a venerable Greek, long dead; Or maybe an athenaeum Where I have found her while reading Looking down at me in the silence from a vast book-laden shelving. I overcame my ambivalence When her face appeared before me a visage, smiling demurely.

Undress the Moon
Adagio chased Goddess,
whispering silver soft illusions
sighing to the wind,
eternally sweet carresses,
free ing your mind
with each
warm brown echo.
a voice found
fastened to
buttons.......
falling stars
that would soon
undress
the
golden
moon,
for she has
 wrapped
 herself
demurely
in the mists,
to hide
her face
from a
lover's
gaze......
we know the sun
has left
a kiss,
upon his own ,
eternal,
slave....

Premium Member Late October
Though tenuous the winds impinge
on late October's brittle fringe,
bereft of August's saffron glow
when brilliant sky did ardent flow
formidable in cyan tinge,

immutable will frost astringe
hot tangerine of summer singe;
no haven for the zeal to go.

Demurely comes first winter's twinge
as last of maple leaves unhinge.
Soon falcons after doves will go
'cross interludes of vestal snow,
while eaves sketch icicles' syringe.

“Delicate” is such a gentle word Conjures up thoughts of aromas Of freshly baked bread Meandering through kitchens Of years gone by Simpler times when the world Witnessed less turmoil Greeting each other with love With a friendly smile a tip of the hat Ladies smiling demurely Filling the air with a scent Of lavender conjuring up odours Thoughts of distant lands Sweet scents of lavender and lilac Nothing but a delicate joy
