Reprise
Decrescendo
into daylight -
eyes open to
fragmented dreams,
sunlight,
morning coffee,
and today's feature story.
Nylons and high-heels
out the door,
the subway waits.

poco piu mosso
another day...
another day...

Her Perspective 3
like a girl on a down swing
on the descent of a roller coaster
i came down
screaming laughing weight less
n then
the water fall ascended
and vibrated the roof of my womb
in a swirl then decrescendo
sending me into the outer space
crushing me in the troposphere
and we moaned
like

Dad,

I want to break you out of here—
commandeer the ludicrous
toddler-pink wheelchair

and roll you over the salt-sprayed hills

This is what my soul sounds like-
crescendo; the silence overflowering
with waves of bliss and rose-coloured hope,
this is my happiness, love stretching out
into a multi-coloured kiss, decrescendo,
a dry bouquet of carnations displayed
at the foot of my grave,
the quiet self of alienation, where I am,
where I’ll be,
 till’ you find me
stretching out my hands
to play the song again....

Life's Fermata
Let the song sift through your soul
Let the harmony heal your heart
Let the melody mend your mind
Make life a musical masterpiece
Let the people hear the peace
Let us understand in unison
Let humans hear the Heavens
Crescendo into all creations
Decrescendo to the day's dawn
Stay stubbornly staccato
Living loosely like legato
Freeze in fermata for a moment
Make life a musical masterpiece...

Crescendo, Decrescendo
Birth.
She cries,
She stands up,
Learns to say “No”.
She finds friends at school,
Studies, discovers and frets
‘Bout boys, love and the future.
She gets a job, works, finds a mate,
Ties the knot…they try to make a life.

Children come, and the money gets tight.
The everyday concerns rule all.
The kids grow and leave the nest.
She finds time for herself
And for her grandkids.
Her partner goes…
She endures,
Weakens,
Dies.
