Crescendo, Decrescendo

Birth.
She cries,
She stands up,
Learns to say “No”.
She finds friends at school,
Studies, discovers and frets
‘Bout boys, love and the future.
She gets a job, works, finds a mate,
Ties the knot…they try to make a life.

Children come, and the money gets tight.
The everyday concerns rule all.
The kids grow and leave the nest.
She finds time for herself
And for her grandkids.
Her partner goes…
She endures,
Weakens,
Dies.
