To Bed, To Pieces
Take me first to bed
And then to pieces.

And then instructions cease,
As does time in all her urgency.

We are here, now,
To deconstruct
All that exists between us,

All that space of the day.

We'll destroy the definitive
Two that we are

Until we're single, simple elements.

We'll rebuild us in the morning....

Deconstruct
5/22/2020
Marcus Lattimore

The architecture.
Little by little.
Will start to crumble.
When you discover.
The influences.

Conformity.
At the expense.
Of sanity.
Is blasphemy.

Deconstruct.
The world's view.
Build anew.

And find.
The true,

You.

Metaphorical Poem
I build myself
poet, in the lightning
of sun that leaves
from the sky,
in the dance of
belly of the moon
between clouds
unstable...
I deconstruct myself
poet, in the smell
of death of
deep dagger
tearing
life...
in satiety
vampire in
tip of the syringe...
in the riotous river
who runs me
inside when
I am without
canoe...!...

Love Lockdown
I don’t understand what’s so hard
I try constantly to answer but I can’t let down my guard
Words at the tip of my tongue unable to flow freely
I want him to know how I feel
And I want him to know me
His constant effort to build our relationship and I deconstruct
I can’t even be truthful with men I have no luck
I guess it’s a cue to get to know me
Before I go out my way and try to make someone love me...

Watch the Time
The time,
          urge control
          in the passage
          that touch us,
          what we are
          than we were
          yesterday...
          It's up to us
          watch today with
          eyes of
          tomorrow,
          deconstruct
          measures
          undone yesterday
          at what
          afflicts us
          in what us
          embarrass ...!...

Half Past Nine
Tonight at half past nine, meet me
in the olive grove. Deconstruct your sweetness:
I like it when you steep your voice in venom.
Tell me the names of graveyard flowers, and pluck,
pluck them clean, pluck them
at your knees,
pretend they aren't for me.
Bring me stories of caves in their nakedness,
?bring me my Atlantis.
And under this mustard streetlight,
remind me of your secret,
for tonight at half past nine,
only the moon is culprit....

Obscure the scars
Reach for the stars

Memorize the epitaph
Autograph the photograph

Photosynthesize and downsize
Realize even the leaves tell lies

Obstruct the construct
Deconstruct the aqueduct

Revitalize those we idolize
Ties cut with loathsome lies

Progress but also regress
And redress the congress

The duality of our reality
Is surreality and fatality

Reach not for the stars
Simply obscure the scars
...
