Behold, in life’s self-portrait I daresay
how youth and beauty alas fade away.
But as my time so increase
  I will paint my masterpiece
and not a picture of Dorian Gray!

No Help

It does not help, not in the least
To eat the crumb, fell from your feast
And if I were to glance behind
I daresay you would have mine

Thank you, for your words are kind
But please don't think me dumb or blind
Little give, much receive
This is your way, your life, your deed

Premium Member If I gave up Sugar

If I gave up sugar
would I crave more salt?
Filling up my diet with potato chips and French fries?

If I gave up sugar
would the enamel grow back on my teeth
Would my missing teeth grow back?

If I gave up sugar
would I lose weight and feel healthy?
Would I still be me?

I daresay I will never know

The Snow Flakes Are Among Us

As the nights are getting cold
we snuggle
into our blankets even more
heavier P.J.'s
I daresay

The snow is being prepared
every night and morning
children look outside their windows
hoping to see the snow on the ground
or maybe just maybe a snowflake in the air

These days and nights are changing
as the snow flakes come as one
to be among us
until the summer
which is yet to come.

Carmelo Ricci

I
The hands Carmelo's genes shaped
Are somewhat lighter, her heart sadder
Carmelo Ricci left a world of pandemics
On January 17, 2022; heaven is happier

II
If a dad can raise a caring, hand-some lass
Who is among those who love hard, not loud:
The same who almost alone cares for Mama
Carmelo and Marie have done God proud

NOTE: GODSPEED TO CARMELO RICCI, LISA RICCIS DAD. I AM GLAD-SAD for my friend, and I daresay, Victor Buhagiar's P.S. pal, too.
