Red lights flashed a bird named Jay
who laughed at the crosswalk and had to pay

Let that be a lesson to all you big talkers
~ lest you end up broke, like poor Jaywalker...

Icily cold the fingertips
of raindrops raise goose bumps
steam rises from the hot tarmac
as rainbow oil streaks spread
a colorful display of pollution
oozes through the crosswalk

Crosswalk Encounter
I saw the old Death Angel
Walking ‘cross the street,
Disguised as a pedestrian,
Visage coy and sweet.

I rolled up my window,
‘Didn’t pause to wait—

I can’t see anything but the sun
reflecting off their tinted windshields...

It's Not Greek To Me
cherchez la femme but
she's in the crosswalk
now so i didnt see her
because i was seeing
her in my thoughts

and i got thinking

importantly la vie
and she romantically
language speaks

pardon my Francais
forgive my italiano
babble but let me
flip to page twenty
six and say the same

         in
Espanol...

It's a Standstill At the Crosswalk
It tears my heart to see where you're heading
I can feel you lying to my face
You're not the same girl I once knew
I don't know how much longer I can stand to be around
I put myself in so much agony as we sit there in lies
It's there in black and white yet you turn the other cheek
You need to figure out your goals and priorities and quit your lies
Because we all see where this is heading...
