Cowboy mind
(Your life
Or your money)
In a cycle of years
Grabbing every penny
You never became rich
I never became ditch
make believe wild west
fingers pointed and thumbs cocked
back yard gunslingers
For the "guns" contest
beautiful bangtail
spirit untamed
racing tumbleweeds
thundering
across mesas
stallions wrestle
under night skies...
Showdown
The hand
ticks toward noon,
main street quiets,
a voice call out -
make my day....
Clint makes his play
May hot coffee be a brewin’
On the campfires of your friends—
May good Mulligan be stewin’
When you reach your last trail’s end.
Wishes for horses,
beggars to ride
Hope cinches tightly,
—dreams that won’t die
(Cowboy Poetry Festival-Elko Nevada: 1992)
Kentucky Home by Jami
My home is where my dreams were made
I left so long ago
I pray I find my home again
no matter where I go
Cowboy Oh-boy

‘ Yellow Rose of Texas ’ Haiku # 14
A Lone Star Shone On
A Yellow Rose of Texas
and Bluebonnets Grown
Hands a-clappin', boots a-thumpin',
skirts a-twirlin', rumps a-bumpin'.
Feel the vibes and hear the noisy
Idaho cowgirls and Boise.
My wait for you
kept me waiting for years
Though Im about to be Hopeless
Still that last Hope is there
And it will remain forever
whistling cowboy
mothers pink cheeks
apology
forthcoming now

My soul burns from so far away
My body cool
the toy of pain
Why am I so far away
why do you try
Ill be free one day
Ill run free
May you keep your spurs a jinglin’—
May you cross the flooded ford—
May you ride the range forever
Next the horse that seats our Lord.
May you celebrate the spirit
Of all good things on this earth—
May you ride down all the right trails
And pay honor to Christ’s birth.
Vacation...Not for the teachers!
Boys and girls squealling with glee, horses and wagons
So much information too little time! Cowboy UP!
Nate Love
After being freed from slavery,
Became the most famous black cowboy in history.
But the cause of his death stayed a mystery.
The sun was high
Throats were burning dry,
The wagons circled round,
Hearts began to pound-
It's too quiet....was the prophetic sound.
May you gather kin ‘round campfires
And give thanks to God on high—
May you feast and relish friendships
Before that round-up in the sky.
May your cattle drives be short ones,
May worries be small and far—
May you find peace at life’s railhead
And at long last rope your star.
sink into sleep
drop into deep
paddle in waves
of fluffed up sheep
glide through the dark
fade into dense
waves of muffled
quiet rest.
Just one puff
I hug my feelings of
Holding you on my
Lips and take just
One puff..... My dear
With love all
Jagdish bajantri
He is for us all
Just call
You will not fall
You will stand tall
Will cure you pain
Stop eyes that rain
Look up sky above
GOD IS LOVE
Today's the day Lucky Luke
trades his hat in for a tuque
not sure his fashion choice and flair
will still be a hit with ladies everywhere
