dilapidated are the wits
that polished the tongue with opinions

Put yourself in someone’s shoes
And gaze from that perspective.
Doing that may give you pause
Or cause to be reflective.

Judging others isn’t fair
Unless we’ve lived their lives.
What tactics we’d reject might be
How somebody survives.

It’s easy to condemn or praise
From knowledge one construes,
But we might sing a different tune
In someone else’s shoes....

Breathing Tree
Too chiffon to talk real—
I'm lying— cause it will stump
When saws and hands tear through;
I planted its green life in my heart.

Sounds far reeling in my ears
That a rattling forest construes 
as neither chopping— or even music.
My tree is stalwart and virtuous—
Soon a martyr for humanity.

I breathed out its vital puffs—
Breaking shadows for my angst.
Like me, limbs stain and shiver—
I lean in to shake where she's
Fixing me with her oxygen mask....
