Remembrance

a glossary
       of memory
measured
yet unsung
plural,personal
delicate:
a consecutive
parade
from twilight

Sign On a Backwoods Road

Hairy spiders do not grill
    steaks on consecutive Tuesdays
  due to alternate-side-residency-
    restrictions in bushes on parkways

  Nevertheless, if seeking opportunities
    to slake cracked-throat-thirst
  Welcome to the Wetlands
    where founts of poetry burst

Just Flirting

The allure of the moment thousands of love ideas shaped at once a typhoon of possibilities swirls the senses ruffles the mind witty glances and flow of speech all parts surrender to the voluptuous rhythm of those consecutive fiery circles released unconsciously in an ocean of Spontaneity.

'traiku' - Winter To Spring

Between the end of
Winter and the buds of Spring--
    Stuck in Frustration.

    Between the end of
Winter and the buds of Spring--
         Anticipation.

   Spring's Bronco Bucking,
Nature's poised to burst forth--The
     Calendar shouts 'Halt!'

(Note: This poem is a "traiku:" three consecutive, interconnected haikus)

Slipping Away

moments fray and shred
tomorrow folds today; time’s teeth – rounded
                memories meld a transcendent balm
                     deeply rubbed by fading voices

A Poem By Me

Consecutive syllabic lines
I'm needing all my words to rhyme
With subjects from love to nature
Written on college ruled paper

Many different styles and forms
Learning the make up of a poem
Put together pieces by piece
To say something that's none the least

Every word is sounding smart
'Til it becomes a work of art
That will belong to only me
And last throughout eternity

Going for Gold

Consecutive days,
yes, that’s what I seek.
Twenty in a row:
that’s nearly three weeks.

Just keep it alive,
you’ll groove it, I’m told.
But here’s what I know:
it’s just getting old.

The same could be said
for writing a verse.
Try hard though you may,
your efforts get worse.

Made it to twenty;
its gold for the win.
Rowing tomorrow?
Nah, I’m sleeping in!

Equisetum

Every layer amassed vertically on the previous

Quintessentially abdicated from the next’s cornerstone

Upward from yet another illuminated chlorophyll-filled vascular vessel

Inspiring the growth of the next generation

Seemingly taxed at consecutive intervals

Each layer recedes like roman pilasters.

Tolling delicately to not topple the tower

Umbilical to existence,

Mother of creation is left on top.

Beyond Jubilee

55 is the sum of consecutive numbers from 1 to 10
55 is a semiprime
55 is the 2nd member of the semiprime family
55 is a natural number
55 Cadillac, an album by Andrew W.K
55 is the name of a song by Kasabian
55 years of infancy
55 years of manhood
55 years of inconsistency
55 years of consistency
From hope to despair
From despair to hope
Nigeria at 55
55 years of independence
55 is beyond jubilee

A Three Hundred Game

Any bowler will achieve notoriety and fame if he or she bowls a perfect three hundred game. To be a certified hero or heroine of the day, achieve that feat during tournament play. It takes a great deal of concentration, and you must have solid determination. Just take the ball and let it go. You need twelve consecutive strikes in a row. Everyone agrees that is not easy to do. If you ever bowled one, then good for you!

One Thought Fits All

adamant energy aiding my anger management
composing into compassion in fashions that are magnificent
we are the innocent, for only enlighten chosen have their noses
outside coincidence, perpetual planning and landing so very intimate
living beyond the internet, feelings coming out as if ventriloquists
were speaking from yonder seating, barely believing my own sentences
minus all menaces, here's where positive blesses this
consecutive benefits, to draw a collective intelligence

Triggers

the punch of the first note
the sound of your name
the sight of the number
invokes an ocean of emotion

the tickle of a memory
the hint of a smile tugging lips
the ache of a heart
what remains is just reminiscing

the last word
the last laugh
the last time

marks passing bisection of our worlds
the hourglass grains sliding away
the slipping grasp on affection
the tapering conversation
history repeats itself

but the consecutive will never be the same
