An Open Petal
Tall grass above
a sleeping dream
Hiding what
His promise deems

Embedded deep
within the blades
New whispers seed
as life conclaves

The sun to mirror
God’s new day
Each ray He grants
new hope in play

That rises softly
through night’s travail
An open petal
— as Grace prevails

The tree of life is torn
Between the darkness and the light
 Unable to conclude or choose
 Which is morally right

 And in all the fury
The tree of life is struck

And it withers to the ground

through the conclaves of sullen asps
one could grasp a reason for being
perhaps its in the changing of the season
burn the candle at both ends

we shall discover it as the mystery unfolds...

Were Not Kings
Were not Kings
Just slaves
Or martyrs
But bodies that fill the graves
Harbingers
Hiding in stone conclaves.

Were not artists
But painters of death
Just lovers
Of our own breath
Takers
Till there’s nothing left.

Were not angels
But ones who fell
Just writers
Of the lies we tell
Followers
Whom march to hell.

Were bellyachers
Ones who complain
Just bloodsuckers
Leaving a stain
Unwise
Creators of lifes pain....
