Pine Seed
Pine Seed

Don't forget
it's clay
that learned how to
soak itself and wrap
in gelatine.
It opened
secret compartments
in it's glue
to do its
quiet, private
oozes....

Premium Member A Good Listener
She listened carefully
Without comment
Learning their secrets
Filing them in compartments

They were honored
Revealing things long hidden
Loosening up their hold
More open than they should have been....

Premium Member A Prison In Your Heart
Four valved compartments
Quadruply lock you up from the devils
Push you nearer to God
With no bargains for confinements and short - cuts
No bargains for freedom but the rules
No bargains for dignity but the truths
No bargains for sentiments but only logics
Just for a normal blood circulation
And a positive way of life...

Labyrinths of Baggage
Baggage within
      trappings of illusions,
love packed away
  in neat little compartments
gathering cobwebs at
     makeshift improvisations,
dusting intermittently
      if by chance a light
           should shine,
never wholly untangling
    the snare
mid a labyrinth of
      transparent entrapment,
as violin strings continue
to unlatch the same old key...

Premium Member Just Dropped In
I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
~Mickey Newberry

compartments
          and partitions
in through daydreams
          out through nightmares
prescriptions and non
          null and into the void
of expansion
          spirit and soul
confined then not
          I talk to God
while the Devil
          is eavesdropping

In 1745
In 1745, the apothecary

Time stands still, peering at the past

The chemists lived making potions

Between dust and rats

Gadgets like compasses hung

Amidst glass vials and bronze knobs

Keys to hidden compartments

Silver ladles and candelabras

Joseph Black isolates CO2

An odd phenomena of “fixed air.”

The healers of the early ages

The fearful labelled witches

And, often then burned...

Premium Member Penthouse Apartment
Out in the open
on a very tall pole,
sunk into cement -
an expensive birdhouse,
designed for Purple Martins.

Mister Bluebird sits
atop the house,
guarding, watching,
while his lady works,
building her nest.

His presence causes
the Purple Martins
to pass on by, seeking
another place to build.

Twelve compartments,
eleven of them empty
except for wisps of straw
placed in each, warning -

this house is taken!...

Collecting the Girl
All her pill boxes
understood to be collectibles
neatly arranged on her coffee table
treasured baubles, bits of metal

Varying uniquely in size, in color
each in a replica of someone's dream
rare in their form,
nearly minted in quality
entrancing small fingers and innocent eyes
telling their stories with secret compartments
tendered with nimblest artisan hands
existing, cocooned, in the quiet of her living room, an urban museum......

Free With Purpose
free with purpose
by Michelle Morris
13/08/2021

the rain came down
cleared the road of debris
minds unmasked
secrets stripped clean

hidden compartments
labyrinths in time
chosen with emotion
no reason or rhyme

the sun came up
sparking raindrops and rainbows
minds filled with kaleidoscopes
of memories and paintings

free with purpose
focus and joy
loving the moments
spiritual heights employed

Collision
A speeding train, an SUV,
A tragedy come true;
The warning arm came down but still
The car continued through.

The driver lost her life as did
Commuters on the train.
The reasons why it happened
Experts want to ascertain.

The passengers who passed away
All sat up in the front,
For when the crash occurred
The leading car absorbed the brunt.

Today the trains were back on track
And fully occupied
Except the first compartments, which
Had nobody inside....
