The Fish House
sea
salt air
reminds me
screen door slamming
smells
smiles
I shared
with my Dad
fish cleaning chores
peace
fast…work is done…slow
quickly…cleaning…sluggishly
a.m. & p.m.
the angst anchored in stalling
then accomplishing it all
I saw a girl down on all fours
Who looked just like Diana Dors
A Marmite girl
Whose toes would curl
Whenever Tom finished his chores!
Quiet time just for me.
A break from the hustle and bustle.
Quality few minutes with Kitty.

Washing and Scrubbing
Plate washing and tile scrubbing I detest among house chores,
Though boring, I still want them to shine like silver ores.
So many things to do.
Won't let the rain slow me down.
Check off my long checklist.

Well, I'll be a son of a gun!
Our Filing Clerk is having fun!
She stopped her chores
And dropped her drawers
Who knew the Accountant could run?
Never a dull relaxing day
Home is where incessant pesky dust collects
I so deserve a holiday

light lamb frolicking
the pasture is her playground
smiles from her fans
farmer does his chores
chop chop chop says his loud axe
day in the country
Tales are unfinished.
They begin with little scribbles;
and flow through time
Until His sovereignty pervades
And the chores of breakfast forgotten .
we are aware we are not the doer
the chores we need to do are done by God
no task then remains for us to perform
save giving divine pulsations our nod
It’s time to water the cocker spaniels
and while you’re at it the flowering annuals
Before the heat of day holds sway
as we’re undone by the midday Sun
Doing chores in the buff on my mind
apron strings dangling down my behind
I hope he keeps mum
about seeing my bum
'coz my window cleaner's just resigned!
They’re the silliest of daydreams
They make her smile while doing chores
Joyfully whiles away the day

Winter Chores
David J Walker
What I remember of
Early morning winter chores
Is a wicked wind waiting to
Baptize and make a believer
Of me
Again
And Again
You are a cute dog with button like eye shape.
Wagging your tail each time a member of the family come to home.
Loyal dog who stays beside mom while doing household chores.
An afternoon stroll
Help you to unwind after
A hectic schedule
Relaxing your mind and body
For the next day tasks and chores

Change to winter tires.
Shovel the snow and spread salt.
Stoke up the fire.
Inspired by: Linda-Marie's Haiku"Weekend Blues"
I remember it too well.
Wake, shower, brush, drive
Oh the thrill of being alive
Work, drive, chores, eat
The sequence is almost complete
Shower, brush, sleep, wake
Learning math’s a big mistake
The heavens open up and
the earth drinks desperately
Waterfalls of cleansing rain wash
this world of ours anew
Drinking tea,
I put a line through “wash car” on my to-do list
It's my day off I should be chillin'
My mind and body are not willin'
To relax because they need
To do chores so I can see
All my errands are about
Getting done as I lounge out
Chores
suck,
laundry,
dishes too.
All of this to do.
I would hire a maid for it if I could afford to,
but that is impossible, and even with housework, in God all things are possible.
a fun poem.
day is new.
something fun to do.
kazoo, or zoo.
weekend, fun begins.
unwind, tune in.
zen or gin rummy.
shop or not.
play all day.
chores to do, think small.
back to the mall.
Form:
Balancing accounts, my most hated chore,
Invoices piling higher than ever before.
Lists of too many charges haunt me today,
Lamenting the weight of each bill to pay.
What memories and thought pools we swim in
Between two distant unreachable shores
A sandy future palmed and green
Or the rocky crags of endless chores.
