Metaphoric Whirlwind
I am offended 
by your metaphors,
they're vindictive
the way they dangle themselves 
above my heartstrings,
periodically plucking
when one gets tangled in the wind

they just hang there
like an untame pennon
waiting to flap
for blatant recognition

my, how you crave those squalls
with such ravenous gluttony,
gnawing at the pellucid air
as though it were chewable...

Who lives here? Asked Crabby Hat, a magical cat.
She had turned herself tiny like an overgrown gnat.
I hope it’s a juicy mole, a tasty vole or a chewable rat
Said her sister, a big eater, Miss Tabby Brat. 

It’s just an old troll, said an interloper who had been spying.
He is not fond of cats at all, unless they are dying. 
Crabby Hat and Tabby Brat got big and faded up and away.
I guess you got rid of two more said the troll who was gray....
