Wise Old Men

Wise Old Men

Two old drinking buddies,
Reflected upon their past,
Till one of them asked,
Why's it taken so long,
For us to realise,
We don't need alcohol,
To have such a blast!

Foster Jenkins, Heiress and Indomitable Operatic Disaster

She never entered a ghetto.
She perfected a high-pitched falsetto.
At the Carnegie Hall
she could both enthrall and appall
as she shredded every libretto.

She's up there with her heavenly peers,
Where many angels must now plug their ears

Was It All a Dream

Once I was gorgeous
  Queen of the Nile
Ruler and conquer
  Always in style
Once I was peaceful
  Nature’s harmony
Musical notes flowed like Carnegie
  Always bliss melodies
Once I was loved
  Pure like Doves
Put up like the stars above.
Or, was it all a dream
Or, was your mouth just playing tricks on me.
  Was it all a dream
Was I deceived...

Mystery Runner

Mystery Runner

Fog curtain twitched,
Neighbourly insights,
Sudden motion pitched,
Band Aided 'Lycra',
A shaping event horizon,
Of near destruction,
Short pony tail rolled,
A pendulum effect,
Why do fog curtains,
Never use nets?

@Andrew Carnegie, Foggy Chippenham, Jan 7th 2017

Sound of a Beat

The sound of a beat intrigues
Motion moves our feet
Music is our heart beat
Each beat of the heart

Creates silent sounds
Moving the body in many directions
Not one sound is the same
Which brings many a song

Some sour some sweet
It’s not a preference
It’s the heart beat
Some in tune others are out

Music belongs to all
Not just Carnegie Hall
It’s a love for sound we have
The movement of minds

Together

Weekend Commuting

Weekend Commute

I dissolved into grey crowds
Flooding Londons underground,
Loosing my identity in the flow,
Swimming with currents,
Counter cultural, guttural,
Warmed by the sight,
Of many travellers,
Taking their luggage,
For constitutional walks.

The Coming Storm

The Coming Storm

Forlorn pregnant expectancy,
Sky belly swollen,
A neonate of dark violence,
Gathers under crying skirts,
Once puffed white pride,
Now taken to the dark side,
Paparazzi flash indolence,
Natures media hot wired,
Lightening fused nostrils,
As the battery taste surrounds,
Hair rejects servitude, levitating,
Van de Graaff stasis discharged,
But always the ominous threat,
Of a war unleashed none survives.
